So i have a speech coming up soon and last time i was so nervous that my voice was actually like shaky. I don't know why but i get real nervous about speeches. So i was thinking i might try adderall of vyvanse to help. I don't need help making the speech but i just want to know if it would help me seem less nervous.

Vyvanse takes to long to work, snort finely pulverized Adderall or Dexedrine 1.5 hours before the speech at a dose of 15mg if you have no tolerance to maximize the chance of it calming you.

stimulants are anxiogenic but there's no doubt they make people extremely talkative. sometimes i find myself looking for someone to talk to around the house if i'm up late and everyone is sleeping. there's a distinct possibility it could raise your anxiety, but it most probably will extend your speech by a solid 2-3 hours if no one tells you to simmer down. the beautiful part about it is you always find yourself saying the right things, and grabbing the correct information from your brain. you also become extremely articulate.

personally i find it a great tool for anything that has to do with school. i would recommend you give it a trial run at home first so you get a little idea of how these drugs work and more importantly, how they affect you. maybe do a mock run of your speech. good luck.

Ha this could be a good situation or a bad one. Clearly you don't want to give too long-winded of a spech (and seem tweaked out) so in my experience adderall/Vyvanse takes about an hour to fully kick in so I'd take one 1.5-2 hours before the speech but not a 20mg or 30mg adderall (or anything above 30mg Vyvanse) if you have no tolerance because you will be speeding most likely. The first couple times I took my prescribed 50mg Vyvanse it was intense lol. I was in a college discussion class on a Friday (when almost no one participates in this particular class) and I was raising my hand answering all the questions, asking questions, etc. and being crazy talkative. One morning after taking my 20mg Adderall XR, a couple people in my writing class of 15 students asked me if I was on crack that morning, and they weren't entirely joking...they knew something was up. Just trying to give advice so that your speech seems natural, that's all

IMO taking adderall or vyvanse is defiantly not what you want todo if your goal is to come across less nervous
Also, if your voice is shaky......taking adderall/vyvanse will likely result in it being even more shaky

Hmm. Maybe if you were to take a huge dose of it right beforehand but in general amphetamines raise confidence in many people and personally having issues with social anxiety, I was on adderall XR at one time followed by 50mg vyvanse and never was my voice shaky. Shaky voices tend to happen when one is nervous which is something that. Adderall in a low dose should take care of.

I can actually only get vyvanse so how much do you think i should take? Or can i not ask about dosage?

Also how many mg of vyvanses are there? Im getting 3 but im not sure how many mg they are yet.

From what I've read, they come in 30,50,70mg. When I was prescribed 30mg, I took 3 of them to really get a nice amp high. that 70-120mg range gonna be the sweet spot to get high. You can still get some nice effects off taking 2x 30mg(60mg). But I never really got the high I was looking for unless I took 90mg. 90mg vyvanse would be like taking 40mg ER addy. You will be less jittery than adderall(IME). The only problem about giving a speech would be the cotton mouth. You don't want everyone to hear you smackin with some dry mouth. Take a bottle of water up there to drink in between certain parts of the speech.

It comes in 20,30,40,50,60, and 70mg. I was given 50mg. Make sure you look up the code on the capsules so you know which ones you have

the adderall comedown is nothing compared to vyvanse. Vyvanse is like the worst comedown of almost any drug I've done. Do adderall for the speech! Vyasne provides more euphoria in high doses imo. worst comedown though. 100mg addy comedown isn't as bad as 50mg vance/ I've done a couple speeches on addys. Granted, my tolerance was low.. I've had hundreds of amp experiences now. Vyvanse makes me unstable and the unwanted stimulation lasts forfuckingever. The adderall comedown is a cake walk. for a speech I would take only 50mg.. You'd be straight. My tolerance is fucked, did 200mg the other day to no avail, but I'd feel comfortable doing it on 50. Very glowy experience..

Bro, if your voice is shaky speaking already..you do not want to add stimulants to the mix, and in turn sound even more edgy. Take 1 mg of Xanax or 2 mg of Klonopin 30 minutes before your speech. I assure you, you will be calm, confident, and will deliver your speech and sound very normal doing so. Benzos too, like stimulants, usually make people more talkative. The uppers will make your anxiety soar through the roof though.

Benzos all day for public speaking.

Stimulants like amphetamines produce a sense of well being. The amelioration of anxiety is a by product of feeling good. Amphetamines or cocaine or other CNS stimulants will induce a sense of well being such as to feel only the good effects during the early stages of use; after that, the sense of well being decreases such that in proportion to the side effects, you will begin to notice an "edge."

I'm very well versed with the effects of Adderall and Dexedrine. I haven't fucked with Vyanase; as I understand it, the drug is metabolized and it cleaves off something (attached, purposely, to reduce abuse and get a patent? = $$$ ?) and voila, the D-amp is freed to do its work. Anyhow, I haven't taken it.

Long story short. Do not try something volatile for the first time in a situation that's already making you anxious. Second, if you are going to do it, take a gentle small dose. You'll feel a mild mood lift -- certainly, it would be enough to provide only positive effects. For example, I would recommend a first time user of Adderall or Dexedrine take 5 mg for a speech. I would also advise to self-monitor for rambling and seeming out of character. I agree with everything Baooozs said, notwithstanding the clarification about stimulants mitigating anxiety. Even an experienced user can start babbling.

I find myself agreeing with OC80. A grain of benzodiazepines would make more sense. Failing that, a LOW dose, preferably after you've tried it once already, acclimating yourself to the effects somewhat, is what I would suggest. 5-10 mg will do it; make sure you look up the time for onset of effects. One other note, if you're going with a less sexy d-amp you should make sure you time the dose so you've plateaued. You'll be better grounded.

Remember, this can be done without any drugs if you have the will. It's been demonstrated in quality scientific studies, one which I've personally read, that people pay less attention to you than what you would estimate to be the case. Everybody got their own thing. They don't really have time to fixate on you.

Hey im not really positive how this site works completely, so I'm not sure if you guys will see this, but I took 50 mg vyvanse this morning for school(not for a speech I didn't get it in time), and it was so much more fun. I was talking alot more but i was sweating alot more too. The main problem was that I think I might have been talking quieter or mumbling, or slurring my speech without knowing because multiple people asked me "what?" because they couldn't understand me. At one point I was talking to this girl and i asked like 3 different questions and she answered the answer to the first one every time. I think it was because she didn't know what I said. Overall it was great except for when we weren't doing anything. While on it just sitting there is terrible and I get uncomfortable, so during my classes I would get out my laptop and start organizing my folders, and making stickynote reminders that I didn't really need, but I was just so bored that I made them anyway. Overall good experience but the slurring/mumbling/talking quieter kinda sucked.

The last time I had a speech due in class I took a beta blocker. I am terrified of public speaking and the beta blocker worked like a charm.

Stimulants can give you a false sense of well being and self confidence , actually they can decrease anxiety dramatically if taken at a medium dose
