A little background info: I am 21 years old, 6 feet 2 inches and weigh 170 pounds. I don't have ADD (at least I don't think I do) and I have never done any amphetamines, MDMA or anything close to it. I have tried weed, benzos and opiates and that's about it.

So a few days ago my buddy got a hold of some 70mg vyvanse (the blue and orange capsules) via his brother's script. I took the pill apart and ate about half the powder since I didn't have any tolerance and wanted to play it safe. About an hour later, I didn't feel anything so I took the other half... When it hit me, the effect was very subtle for me. I noticed an increase in heart rate, increase in energy (did not feel tired anymore) increase in concentration and focus, and I was more talkative than usual.

But that's about it. I did NOT experience any form of euphoria which is surprising considering this drug is known as "government crack" and is supposedly the most potent ADD medication out there. I did smoke a few bowls afterwards and it made the high a bit better.

Fast forward to yesterday, I decided to take it on an empty stomach and the whole pill this time. Much to my surprise, the effect was even more subtle than the first time!

Is this one of those drugs where it can take a few tries to "break through" (that was the case when I first tried opiates, first time with OC 80 I didn't feel anything, second time I was noddin off) or is this just not one of those drugs that I think it is?

Milligram for milligram.. the most potent ADD medications are, of course, the dopamine releasing agents

#1 - Desoxyn - (d-methamphetamine)
#2 - Dexedrine - (d-amphetamine)
#3 - Adderall - (75% d-amphetamine 25% l-amphetamine)
#4 - Vyvanse - (lisdexamfetamine, it converts into d-amphetamine at a ratio of every 5mg lisdexamphetamine metabolizes into 2mg d-amphetamine)

Equivalent doses in matters of potency (vyvanse converts slowly, so it has a time release effect)
IR = Instant Release preparations, XR = Extended Release preparations
Desoxyn 7mg (IR) = Dexedrine (XR) 28mg = Adderall (XR) 28-33mg = Vyvanse 70mg

Note: Desoxyn is equipotent at 7mg IR due to its long duration, and resistance against breakdown from MAO... so there isn't much point in an extended-release preparation (though there are exceptions for some people)

When I first started taking Adderall (XR), the MINIMUM dose I could take to feel anything was 20mg... so its not that uncommon to only feel mild effects on 70mg vyvanse with no tolerance, considering its not really that high of a dose at all.
