Same here, I know a few of them. They bit of more than they could chew, although shangri la people who made the site and the ticketing company bare a large portion of the blame. (site wasn't as advertised to bloc - think there was a stage missing. and the ticket scanning didn't work properly so they just started letting people in)I know some of the cunts who tried to organise it. Clowns.
Short answer too many people because they either sold too many tickets or ticket master who where running the gate let people in without tickets. They shut the festival down and called the police to manage getting people out. Long answer - I'm not going to bother, a perfect storm of everything going wrong! Why did it get cancelled?

and, if you think the scene sucks, what are you doing to make it better?

I heard that to... I was talking to a tosser though..!I've heard V festival is excellent

my comments were not addressed solely at you. if i'm addressing somebody specifically, i'll generally quote the point i'm addressing to make that clear.Ha, I'm not for a minute dissing the british rave scene.
i ask because i'm a big believer that replacing a lightbulb is preferable to moaning about the darkness.I'm hoping there will be something new coming along soon, or perhaps one of the ones mentioned in this thread!
As to what I'm doing to make it better, well I'm not involved in the industry so not all that much. Some of my friends run a soundsystem that tours festivals and I lent them some cash to get their van fixed. I also helped get some cash together to pay the mooring fee to keep the ms stubnitz in london after bloc fucked up. So yeah, I feel I do all I can. Why do you ask btw?
it depends on what you mean by 'rave' scene. i mostly listen to (psy)trance and so the events i tend to attend are smaller, focused events where the music and atmosphere is very tight-knit but welcoming. Also, do you think the rave scene is better here than in the US? I've never experienced it over there, so I have no idea.
i don't believe that at all.Alasdair believes that you can't have a negative opinion of something if you haven't quit your job and sold your house to try and improve it yourself.
you were doing so well then you had to go and spoil it. when you have to resort to insults, it speaks volumes about your contribution. He's a prick.

Did anybody go to that Noisly Festival?
Edit: Looks fucking incredible!

that said, i've been to a few events in london. escape from samsara at the fridge a few times - always excellent. i also attended a huge event at that club under london bridge station when alien project were playing and it was equally excellent.

I hear you. Glade was so special, a perfect combination of hippies and generally sound people/wreck-heads. Full to the brim of psychedelics and wicked music.
