Hi guys I'm currently on day 20 of vivitrol and want to know when it will wear off. It's my second shot in the cycle and I'm a 150 lbs male. I can't wait much longer. I tried yesterday and felt nothing. Please let me know if anyone knows anything.

day 26. barely anything. I wanna wait a full week to try again but my cravings are awful. fuck vivitrol
 
don't even bother until at least day 32

curious though, what are your results as of now?
 
hey, so i used on day 28 and i finally understand what the whole, "got high but no euphoria" thing means. It sucks tho and its not worth the money. Today is day 32 and i just used and its the first time ive felt any euphoria at all. But very minimal. I would say maybe 30 or 40% of the usual feeling. Im fairly confident that if i wait 3 or 4 more days and try again than I should be good. I can't believe that anyone can actually get high on day 21 like the other threads suggest. for me personally, i can barely feel anything at day 32. Ill post in a few days and let you know if it works.
 
Day 37, unsure if I should try again, don't feel like wasting anymore money but I'm dying to get high. I'm not convinced that I will get high if I use
 
Hey guys so Its day 39 and I tried again. I feel it probably 50% but I finally got a little euphoria. This is the first day that was worth it, but barely worth it. I'm shocked it's lasted this long. I'm waiting until I get my next paycheck to cop again and that won't be until day 47 so I should be 100% by then. I'll post then just in case the insight helps anyone. But wow I can't believe its lasted this long. I thought for sure it would move through me fast since I workout every single day and drink a ton of fluids but oh well. I'm in the home stretch!
 
This was my experience that I posted in another thread but that thread went off the rails quite quickly so maybe it will be better off here as it seems we have similar goals on this thread.

So I was on Vivitrol for 8 months and it has now been 80 or 81 days since my last shot. I began trying to use Oxycodone IR (intranasal) around day 35 as most of what I've read has said at 35 days they can feel most of the high and euphoria. I got absolutely nothing. I had read one account of having to wait 64 days before feeling any good effects so I wasn't too worried. I started trying every few days and at about day 42 I started getting very delayed slight effects, basically some slight euphoria feeling, talkative, mood elevation, but not any rush and any effects took over 2 hours to be noticed. Since then I've been able to feel more pronounced effects sometimes, and less others. Once or twice, around days 65-70 I felt a small bit of the initial rush from snorting but it was short lived and would go away withing 10-20 minutes. Then some of the euphoria and upper feeling of the oxy might kick in between 1-3 hours after dosing. Since day 32 and now around day 80 I have gone from trying 20mg up to 60-70mg at a time. I definitely have been building a tolerance and do get some withdrawal if I don't dose. But, even at 80-81 days, I still cannot get the real stomach punch rush euphoria, the good body buzz or the lasting happy feeling. I get a small kick around 10 minutes, get tired feeling, and then after 1-3 hours still the effects slowly build and last about 6 hours. I definitely feel some opiate "up" effects but it's different every time, and I never get the real initial rush. Basically, there are obvious good effects missing and the moderate euphoria and uppy feeling is mixed with all of the negative effects of the oxy (some anxiety, sweating, pinned pupils, agitation). I know that the reports from most people getting high after Vivitrol is regards to heroin but at 80 days I feel like even oxy should be at full effect. Because of how long I was on the shot I had to find a new source so at first I was a little concerned that maybe I wasn't getting legit pills (even though they look perfect and no other reason to suspect) so I did a laboratory ms/gc test and came back for the expected oxycodone/oxymorphone and nothing else. I am trying to find a lab that will test me for naltrexone to see if it's really possibly still being released from my ass muscle but no luck as of yet.
 
I've been clean for a bit over 2 weeks and on the vivitrol shot for a little over a week. I'm def not ready to stop. Kinda forced to get the shot, even though I could have just said no. There's so many threads and different opinions to look through about how long I have to wait to use the blues or morphones to make it worth while. So if any one has an experience after their first shot. That'd be great.

Also. The idea that cravings would stop was complete bs. I feel terrible on the shot, in a terrible mood, depressed and snap at every little thing.
 
From everything I've read most people who talk about how long after their last shot to get high are using IV heroin. In general, though, after one shot and based on everything I've read I think 35-40 days would be safe to get high again from pills. My experience is hard to relate as I was on it for 8 months and seem to be having a much longer period of effects than the average person.

I had a similar experience to you mood-wise, but it took a bit longer than a week for that to really set in, for me. Like I said above, I was on the shot for 8 months. It actually did really help with the cravings for me, but a lot of that could have been that I wanted to be clean (at the time) and psychologically knowing that I couldn't get high, even if I tried. It made the thoughts of using more fleeting and less obsessive. After maybe 2 months on the shot the side effects you described started to get to me, though. Depression, feeling "out of it" or disconnected, anxiety and agitation, loss of pleasure from regular activities. My need for some euphoric feeling started coming out in other ways; sex, spending/online shopping, food/overeating (put on a ton of weight), etc. The "addiction doctor" I went to for the detox and then the Vivitrol shots never went over any of these possibilities with me, despite that he should have per the Vivitrol packaging (which I never got to see any of the Vivitrol inserts because it goes straight to the doctor and he injects it and assumably throws away the rest). After about 5-6 months on the shot (3-4 months after the negative side effects became very noteworthy) I started wondering if these feelings (especially the depression/disconnected feeling) could be side effects of the Vivitrol (I'd had numerous tests and labs looking for the cause of the way I was feeling, yet I still hadn't done much research on Vivitrol at this point as everyone told me there was nothing bad about it) and asked the doctor before my injection one day. He quickly assured me that nothing I described was caused by Vivitrol and that I probably just really needed another shot (no joke) and quickly administered the shot and left before I could ask another thing. I don't think Vivitrol is bad or good, necessarily, but everyone should have all of the information to make an informed decision.
 
I was on the Vivitrol shot for 8 months. My doc said the shot is intended to last 28 days. Bullshit. Maybe for some but it was between 38 to 40 days before I could feel the physical effect of any opiate. Mental effect finally happened for me on day 46. I see the pros and cons of the shot. If you are dead set on being completely opiate free...this beast of a shot is where it's at!
 
Thanks for the info. I can't tell, now that its been 2 weeks since the shot, if it's the fact that I can't get high or its the vivitrol that has me in such a horrible mood. I def see the pros and cons of the shot but can only focus on the cons now. And hot damn, 40 days!?! Maybe by then I'll just forget about the little blue guys.
 
Hey guys I'm on Day 50 and Im finally able to get a complete high, I wasnt able to for the longest time. Tried at day 41 and felt basically nothing. Even right now after sniffing 2 oxy 30s im definetly very high but j definetly am losing a little bit of the euphoria. Overall I feel great but there's definetly some soms still siting in my syatem. This was my second shot in the cycle. I would recommend waiting at least 40 days before trying because you will be pissed. There are some forums that suggest 21 days but I don't know how that's possible.
 
Over 3.5 months now and still can't get a real high off of oxy. At this point I'm concerned that somehow the shot is either still in me (seems impossible after this long) or has ruined my receptors or ability to really feel opiates forever, which is terrifying, especially because those receptors aren't only there for oxy. Feel like I'm going insane at this point, and doesn't seem like much I can do. I've never found a case similar to what I'm going through.
 
Yeah. That's definitely a bit scary. I would hope this stuff isn't in my system for that long after stopping it. But who knows. There's a lot the dr doesn't tell you before getting it.
 
Was wondering if anyone has had any experience going for vivitrol to suboxone. I can't take the cravings anymore while on the shot. It's torture and driving me crazy.
 
Did you get another shot, blue? Based on your previous posts you should be like 36 days since your shot (unless you got another) and worth a try at using. Or have you and no go? From what I've read suboxone is easier to break through with than other opiates because of it's affinity for the receptors. It's more likely to "kick out" the naloxone. Some people earlier on after the shot who can't get high on heroin have reported suboxone giving a slight buzz and working mostly as intended. I'm planning to switch to that shortly as at 114 days after the shot I'm still missing some essential effects (the rush, kick in, high euphoria, etc) of an opiate high using oxy. Maybe the subs will give me a bit of a buzz and let me get off this stuff (despite the lack of some parts of the high I still feel it for sure and have built a good tolerance that comes with withdrawal) while I figure out if it's even worth trying any more.
