Vivitrol Shot Lingers?

Hi. So on September 29, 2014 I got my first vivitrol shot. Pretty much forced upon me while in detox. Went to inpatient treatment then 28-30 days later I agreed to get my second vivitrol shot. Then I went to extended treatment..the next step. I continued the shot two more times a total of 4 shots. My doc is heroin. I relapsed & used meth.I am thankful for the vivitrol shot because I would of left treatment on several occasions to go use but figured it was pointless being on the shot. The first two months of being on the shot was helpful. It helped with the physical cravings but thats about it. Even my doctor & therapists said they didnt think it was helping my cravings considering I was craving everyday maybe not as bad but still pretty bad. Anywho I had about 108 days clean nd I caved...i used meth. Half of my cravings were just for the needle I feel like the shot just prolonged my relapse but its horrible to be in a position where u dont want to work for recovery and u want to use but cant so ur stuck. thats where i was for about 2 months. anywho my last last was december 29th & i decided to no longer continue the shot because for the last 4 months I felt like a fucking zombie & i kno it was becuz all the meds i was on but i wasnt sure if the shot has a play in that. okay so last saturday i took a suboxone just to test the waters....i figure the shot lingers for some time from being on it for the last 4 months..so i didnt expect to feel the suboxone but boy did i ! i got very high off a 8mg suboxone. that was saturday today is wednesday nd i scored some black nd i dont really feel the high....i dont uderstand y id feel a suboxone all hardcore but not this black??? anybody have any logic behind this or experiences? thanks

im just curious...cuz i dont wanna keep doing more nd OD but i dont get y id feel a suboxone nd not black ?8)
 
Buprenorphine, the active ingredient in suboxone has a higher binding affinity to the opiate receptors. So even though it doesnt feel as strong, it fights harder to latch into your brain. Thats why you cant get high on black while on subs. Its not because of the naloxone (or not only becuase of it) its because the subs kick other opiates off your receptors which is why you can go into precipitated withdrawals if you take a sub too early. Btw how many days had passed since your last shot? I didnt catch that from your post.
 
If swim is on vivitrol and on day 21 takes suboxone and gets high, will swim get withdrawals when swim gets swims next vivtrol shot in less than 7 days since last use of suboxone?
 
I don't know the answer, but I'll give you a friendly piece of advice: we don't SWIM here. It doesn't protect you in any way and only makes posts more obnoxious to read.
