Hi All.
I was wondering if any of you would know know now I am off GABA related drugs would things like Valerian, L-theanine, l- Glutamine, KAVA, taurine or anything help replenish my diminished gaba. I have researched it a bit and know one seems to know. Maybe time and healthy diet is the only way.
Any advice much appreciated.

Regards.

Although it's not true for all cases but most GABAergic drugs will only further downregulate your GABA receptors..

Google it , get gaba rich foods.
Take b-complex vitamins. I forgot the other stuff

Agreed I am currently taking b complex and it's been helping a lot. I can feel the difference

There's no real targeted response to aid such a recovery I'm afraid, at least not any long-term solution.
Eat well, sleep well, meditate (I read somewhere that this facilitates natural gaba release IIRC, which makes sense considering it's so relaxing :) )

Honestly, the endogenous synthesis of GABA is quite rapid and is unlikely to downregulate with even regular use of GABAnergic drugs (instead, you see receptor-downregulation). The one thing that will help is time.

^ This.

Trust me, I understand the desire to want to recover faster. That's what most users want to hear: that there's a shortcut. Unfortunately, time and a healthy lifestyle are the only way to go about it. No shortcuts really. And it's a good thing, because if you can harness the patience to do it that way, then you'll probably have the discipline to lead a better life from then on.
