I remember Reading someones Post somewhere but I doubt it is a True Fact but they said taking Vitamin C with Methadone will make it not work as well. To be on the Safe Side I am going to Dose my Methadone 1 Hour after Eating a Grapefruit than it should be all right?

I know how Placeb can be for some people but to know whether it is True or False would be Greatly Appreciated.

There seems to be conflicting information about the effects of vitamin C and methadone together. It's thought that vitamin C causes methadone to be excreted faster. But if that were true, you would think this would have caused problems years ago when clinics used to dose people with orange juice or tang mix. I think it's generally agreed that large amounts of vitamin C in the form of ascorbic acid might cause this to happen. I don't think eating a grapefruit would affect this too much.

^^

The whole vitamin C and methadone thing is really exaggerated. Basically, it is said that vit c causes methadone to excrete faster because methadone does not absorb well in an acidic environment, hence decreasing the bioavailability and resulting in methadone to be excreted before it can be broken down. But, this only really starts to occur at very high doses of vitamin c. We're talking like 4-5grams of it everyday.

So, don't think that popping a vitamin c with your multi vitamin is going to fuck up your methadone dose and cause you to waste it. It wont.

Methadone is so fat soluble that vitamin C's effect is going to be mild at best. It's really more of a concern with shit like amphetamine.
