Vision problems after MDMA

Hi.

I hope this is the right place to post this.

I have been experiencing starburst halos after a night of MDMA, especially from car lights and some lamp posts, etc. Halos around traffic lights are also huge now during night time. I have had visual snow and floaters for about a year (tho I think I've always had visual snow, but because of being stressed and I suffer from anxiety I notice it more now. I don't notice it during times where I am not stressed), but never the starbursts. It's like streaks of light coming from light sources. I have done MDMA maybe once a year since 2013. In september I had a 3-4 day binge (I know, stupid!!), I felt like crap for a week but then I felt normal again. About 6 weeks later I did MDMA one more time, and this is about 12 weeks ago (I did a little bit of coke in November, but didn't experience any worsening of symptoms). The night after last time I did MDMA I suddenly experienced the starbursts around lights. I am just wondering if anyone else here has experienced the same thing, and if it has gotten any better after a while? I did go see an optometrist, and my eyes are fine, but he did comment on my pupils being a little bit big and that they don't dilate as they should in the dark. I have also noticed my pupils are bit smaller than my friends when we are in places with dim lighting. I am considering going to see an ophthalmologist, although I don't know if there is any point to it.

I am never doing drugs again, because I am afraid it will make my vision worse than it already is, and that is not worth it. Suffering from anxiety, it doesn't help my symptoms any further, because I kind of obsess over them (which is the biggest problem, really). I am planning on contacting my doctor to get help with my anxiety, start working out and eating healthy. Just try to continue with my life, even though it seems very hard now.

Anyway, just wanted to see if anyone else here has had a similar experience, and if it has gotten any better. Here is a picture of what the starbursts look like, but it is not as extreme as the picture shows: http://tinyurl.com/jm6tn4u
Thanks to anyone reading this! I don't need to be told how stupid I was for doing so much MDMA in September, I know. It was a festival, and all my friends were doing it so I was just going along for the ride and not thinking. I regret doing it again so short after, I should've waited or just not done it again at all.

Hi there! If you haven't already discovered "HPPD" now is your chance to go look it up on wiki ;)

I've had some visual snow (especially in the dark) since I was younger but after abusing E when I was 14 I've had HPPD ever since, though things have improved. I think sleeping is really important, I notice it gets much worse with me when I don't sleep well.

Just to be clear as mud this is a problem with the brain and not the eyes. A neuroopthamologist might have more to say on the matter but we don't know exactly what causes HPPD.

Take care :)

I have the same issues which started after a one off exstacy use. They remain 2 plus years later. If this is the only symptom of your mdma bing, thank your lucky stars, get used to it and move on.

While on mdma pupils usually become dilated. While pupils are dilated they allow in more light which is why colors and lights become brighter and more vivid. Because they allow in more light it makes bright lights more damaging to the eyes.

Vision issues after mdma are usually temporary.

Continued use of mdma under circumstances of bright lights or lighting can start to cause more lasting eye issues.

For example rolling in dark and looking at a bright light can be a common after mdma night eye issue causing blurriness.

If your rolling all night with MDMAzing huge pupils and your pupils are still dilated when the sun rises your vision will seem blurry because they are letting in more light than usual.
