Opioids violated narcotics contract question

A narcotics contract violation will not necessarily impact the treatment you receive from other physicians. I got booted for having coke in my system and have never, ever heard one damn thing about it.

a narcotics agreement contract is ONLY VALID FOR THAT PRACTICE, it does NOT follow you, its an agreement to abide by the practices rules

Not true dear. You might be lucky enough such as Morphling stated stated happened to him but generally this does become part of your medical records. Most pain management docs are going to want to see prior/previous docs records, most will not take you at your word as to what you are taking, medical issues etc. If you have been "booted" or fired by a doc for violation of narcotics contract that doctor is usually going to have extensive notes there as to why he would no longer treat you with narcotics. They do this to cover their own ass from the DEA, the state licensure board and you, the patient. (You because they don't want you to come back and try to sue because they stopped treating you...a patient could claim negligence or patient abandonment). The DEA and licensing authority is self explanatory I think.

So when you go to a new doc and they want your records they WILL see the reasons why the prior doc refused to treat you with narcotics anymore. A few docs may be willing to give you a second chance. But many will not treat you with narcotics if you have abused or violated a contract in the past. (Though drug abusers should have the right to receive treatment for pain..but in the real world it doesn't usually work that way). Hell, a lot of docs are even having you sign so that they may perform a criminal records check to be sure you have no drug related offenses before they place you on medications (scheduled medications).

So you might be lucky enough to get a new doc that isn't that thorough in checking your history or you might be lucky enough that your old doc had sloppy record keeping but more and more chronic pain patients who have violated past narc contracts are going to be in for a hard road. In addition, if the DEA and PROP have their way, new regulations will require pain docs to check before they can treat you with narcotics.

they really are fucking cracking down, the DEA at family practices. my former family doctor, gave me what meds I said I was on when I was in Texas, he asked what MG, printed it out, and never asked for records ever. he knew i was an opiate addict, and usually when u fail 1 piss test u get booted from the practice, but oddly this family doctor still RXed me my klonopin 4mg daily, and Adderall, knowing i was on suboxone, and for failing his random urine TOXes, after my 3rd dirty, he had no choice but to let me go, he was a great doctor, i took advantage of him, took an inch for a mile. at one point he was just giving me a 90 day supply of klonopin and Adderall, and just stop in every 3 months. he took my word i was from Texas, moved up to NY,and gave me what i stated i was RXed, asked for no records..now when i see a family doctor, i got to see a psychiatrist for anxiety/panic, and when i saw the shrink, she denied me klonopin even with my 7yr history of proof i was on it, she said
a family doctor will help u" so i saw a family doctor that day, he got SO ANGRY when i told him the shrink said to go to him, he said he will only taper me me off klonopin, and if i want it, i need a shrink, same with Adderall, seems like all family practices are acting like this now, then what the fuck is the point of a family doctor? u have trouble sleeping? they refer u to sleep specialist, ur in a lot of pain, refer u to pain management, ur tummy has been acting up, refer u to a GI, so what the fuck can a family doctor do? just do physicals,, have u get bloodwork, and give out flu shots or antibiotics if ur sick!? so angry bout this
