Video Store Late Fees.

Well maybe for your particular local shop but that doesn't apply to all stores. The one i worked at would be cleaned out of all the main new releases weekly and people had to go on huge waiting lists for particular movies, so when they were not returned it actually pissed us staff off because we had to call up the people on the list at the end of the night before we could go home and apologize to them for their movie not being returned. Was a pain in the arse.

On those particular occasions i didn't think twice about charging people the fee's. :)

This was back in the video days though, not DVD's. Maybe it is a lot different now since people can download shit off the net easier now days. Back when i worked in a vid store new releases were a huge demand!

As of Nov '08, I owed a video store (I'll be damned in that I cannot remember the name) in Brissy over $100 in late fees. And I left the country shortly thereafter without paying any attention to it. It's been almost 2 years now, but still in the back of my mind that outstanding charge is there and I wonder whatever became of my account :\
 
You were black marked and will never be aloud into the country again!!!! Australia doesn't stand for any of that rubbish!! ;)

Nah im sure you will be able to hire again if you came back.. you just might have to go to a new store. =D
 
^ true, you'deven be able to hire from the same chain if you like... in a neighbouring suburb.

Or throw them $5, that should fix it.
 
My local store wants to charge me $20 for 3 3-nighters that were 1 day late and cost less than $10 to hire for 3 nights. I did my normal "get fucked you blood sucking cripples" but there was no manager present so they didn't cancel it... still working on this one but they will not get a cent....
 
Video stores have the power to cause bad credit ratings. I learnt this the hard way, damn blockbuster.

If you don't earn over a certain amount you just never pay it off, right?
