Video shows man smoking crack on commuter train

SAN FRANCISCO -- You'd think it would be an unpleasant experience to ride a MUNI train with someone apparently smoking crack, but it doesn't appear to be bothering the riders in a recently-posted Youtube video from uptownalmanac.com.

The Youtube website said the clip was shot Tuesday and shows a passenger sprawled on the floor of a crowded N-Judah train lighting up what appears to be a crack pipe.

There are dozens of passengers around, not reacting in any overt fashion.

"I think it's just San Francisco. Nobody comments, right? I think if it was in New York you'd get a bit of a different reaction," said Brendan Hickey of San Francisco.

But Nina Jameson of San Francisco had a different reaction. "I don't know if I would get involved myself because it's kind of difficult to say what the ramifications might be," she said.

One Muni passenger said he saw someone smoking crack on a 38 Geary bus recently and admitted he didn't alert anyone.

"I don't want to get lashed out on by some crazy crackhead or anything like that," said Daesen Carr of Antioch.

Muni says if the crack smoking did indeed happened, it had no report of anyone reporting it.

"It's an unfortunate situation. A rider shouldn't have to deal with this. Sometimes it does occur on our system," said Paul Rose, Muni spokesman.

What they shoulda showed was dude blowin out those fat ass rips he was takin in all the passengers faces. I never really fuck with the train but as far as the bus I've seen some crazy ass shit and I'm sure anybody who grew up in a city can say the same. Pretty funny video tho I like the young boy like "I don't want to get lashed out on by some crazy crackhead." Haha classic.
 
crack heads are completely unpredictable and given to rage . being in a jail cell with a few of them keeps one on his toes and ready to fight .
 
im n ot getting off a train early to call police on someone smoking crack even if he did have a dirty needle. rather just KO the cunt
 
Once I was on a public bus and I saw this guy sitting across from me with a big bottle full of pills. He says in a slurred voice " I not a drug addict" and then throws back a huge handfull of pills in his mouth.
 
I mean what is anyone expected to do, roll up and say "Hey bro, hugs not drugs. I'm not cool with what you're doin'." Clearly the dude gives no damn if he's smoking crack on a train to begin with. I think just leaving him be was probably the best course of action. No one got hurt and it's not like having the dude arrested would have accomplished anything.

lol yeah seriously what do they expect people to do? Go up to the dude and place him under citizens arrest? I would just ignore the dude in the situation and probably laugh like some of the people in the video seemed to be doing.
