(VIDEO) Romney will fight medical marijuana tooth and nail

Romney can cram it with walnuts, ugly!

Of course he will. We've got two actors on a stage. In a two party system, whoever funds that system can do whatever they like. It's not that outlandish an belief.

Yes.

He told me to tell you to 'bite his shiny metal ass.'
I don't think bender ever smoked cannabis, he loves cigars I believe.

OT(just so this isn't 100% irrelevant): Fuck Romney. I'd rather elect someone from a nazi party.

Who gives a fuck?

Towards the opening question was that statement thrown towards.

These capricious evil bastards aren't going to do anything useful, regardless of party affiliation. Their inherent goal is to just the contrary,

Fuck shit up more so we can pay invested parties to fix it. Or divide the people to the point that nobody trusts anyone and everyone's so scared they're not willing to stand up to these people born into privileged positions.

The whole system is stupid and why people invest themselves in it to this day is beyond my comprehensive reasoning.

If you choose not to act, you're abandoning the system to big money and fringe whackoes. That's the problem with America today IMO, everyone thinks the other side is evil and bent on destroying our country, everyone assumes our government officials are corrupt from the get go (disincentivizing it as a career path for many). Apathy, disillusionment, realism, I'm sure there are plenty of reasons to feel poorly about it, but I don't think democracy can work with that kind of attitude.

It should say something that not only has Bush and his explicit ideology been treated with all but outcast status by the Republican party since he left office, but that both Obama and Romney have integrated policies which are basically polar to what they ostensibly stand for and that their rhetoric has become a lot more ambiguous. American citizens are compelling a centrist position. Romney won't hesitate to legalize medical marijuana on the federal level (or go even further) if public opinion increases enough--America has already sprung up quazi-anarchist groups, so the elite who routinely buy out politicians in the states know they must be careful about deviating too far from public opinion.

I never said democracy could work.

I doubt it can. At all. Thus my admonitions.

I don't know what would work, but it would have to be some kind of mechanized society where waste is eliminated and the disease of motivation based on profit is treated as an addiction and stomped out.

We have the resources right now to live in a fully functional and sustainable world, but there's no profit in changing these archaic institutions so we're literally destroying ourselves.

50 years we'll be double in population and we'll have no more oil. The only reason I haven't killed myself so far is because that shit is going to be interesting to watch.

socialism essentially

I believe in "non profit" economic models... if we were all trying to assist each other instead of trying to profit and "beat" each other at taking we would be rewarded for giving and helping others instead of stressing over how to beat them out :)

Have a look at this

Good point. The masses didn't agree to participate in society so that some fucked up version of justice in the name of (economic!) freedom could trump utilitarianism.
