Might be a mistake on the part of PS3's packaging of the game.

As the 360 version is 720p according to microsoft website, and as all agree, the graphics are better on the 360 version

Same thing as with COD4 re: the 1080p settings. Go into display settings on the PS3 menu, and uncheck the 720p option. For games that support 1080p, this will show them as 1080p. For games that aren't 1080p, with the 720p option not checked, this will resort them to 420. If you're just playing 1080p games, no problem. However, if you pop in a 720p game, you'll want to go back in and check 720 so your game isn't displayed in 420.

Well the PS3 says 720p but apparently it's more like 640p.

One thing I have noticed as a difference between the PS3 and Xbox is that the PS3 has far smoother gameplay. There is much more pop up with the xbox, when playing it I would keep banging into things which hadn't been rendered yet, has never happened with the PS3. I'm not just sticking up for the PS3 because I'm the only one of my friends that has a PS3 and they all noticed it :p

Really???

I've noticed a bit of popup... but mostly textural, not actual objects that cause you to crash (like they did in san andreas).

Yep, but it may also be due to the fact that his disk was damaged by moving the console whilst it was in it. He had to get it fixed by the retailer and I remember how much worse the pop up was in previous games when the disk had been damaged.

cheers!

You're absolutely right. Nice one:)

For other PS3 and full HD TV owners who have this problem, do what he said!

To be exact, the PS3 menu worked like this :

Settings - Display Settings - Video Output Settings - HDMI - then choose 'custom'

(as opposed to automatic). Then uncheck the 720p box, then using the control pad go right until you are are given the option to 'OK' the new settings.

Not that it really makes a difference after playing 8hrs+ in dark room :)

Happy days, cheers man.

And thank you Sardonic for brining it to my attention! <3

That's a bit of a pain. I wonder why it doesn't automatically select the best setting?

I changed it and it turns out my TV only supports up to 1080i :X

But I have it on 1080i now and I don't think it's actually as good as 720p. There was no blur with 720p but now there is when I turn around with 1080i switched on.

progressive > interlaced

i would stick with 720p vs 1080i. if your picture is standing still, 1080i will look better. however, with movement as such with any game, you'll want progressive, ie 720p.

Does your 360 support HDMI? Or Blu Ray? How much do you pay to play online? How's it feel to have to pay for batteries for your controllers?

Aw, look at you all geeking out.

What you need to do is you need to steal a fire engine and use the left bumper button (Xbox) to pressure hose pedestrians. Everyone you hose will start chasing you and if you go slow enough eventually one of them will pull you out of the fire truck and then the whole mob will chase you down the street on foot.

I had like, twenty people chasing me, it was hilarious.

'Liberty City to Los Santos' for some reason

Either you are a troll, or an idiot... probably both.

OK so I suck at riding bikes...

The quest to confront the dude who just got out of prison's girlfriend, (about the money she spent and the fact that she's fucking some other dude) I believe it's called ' rough riding' or 'riding high' or something, well.., it's really hard!

Wondering people playing on PS3, do you use the motion sensitive Sixaxis control for bikes?

I found it quite fun, and difficult to fly the helicopter using this control, and also good for cruising around the airport on a bike - when there is ample open road and no obstacles, but in the real game I always stack the bike, it's really hard to do sharp corners and tight manoeuvres. Hence where possible, I prefer a car.

The other quest which involved confronting some bikers I just ran them over in a car and machine gunned the rest, I find it difficult to drive and shoot, and downright impossible to ride and shoot.

So, any tips on how to do that mission?
