HUNTER...!!! On the Amiga!

If you want a proper classic game... it has to be "Hunter". Hunter is sadly overlooked by many a gamer, but you wouldn't believe how advanced the concept was for it's time. Played on the Amiga platform, it was basically and early (and almost fully realised) version of Grand Theft Auto III, with a complete 3D polygon environment and worlds that you could freely explore. You could drive cars, tanks, boats and fly helicopters, blow up houses, kill people and animals, wear disguises, use all sorts of weapons. It was mad!

LOL!! sorry yo not trying to diss. those are actually only a couple of pc games that i've played...minus the oregon trail. ive always been a console gamer. but deus ex is like 2000. i wouldn't say its a new game. i guess i posted them because i think they are both dope games.

and i would say each game revolutinized gaming in some way...so I would say they are both classics..

I have a cache of old games for many consoles besides the PC but most of the games mentioned here as well except for a couple I wouldn't mind having. Anyone want to PM me or set up a trade? I loved them games man! Maybe one day I'll go back and rehash their code.

The X-com games, terror from the deep, ufo: enemy unkown and apocalypse.

Probably THE best turn-based (for the most part) strategy games ever to exist%)

Funny story. Me and my friend are in EB games in like 6th grade, and stumble across a game for $.99!!! That game was X-COM: Apocalypse, one of the best games i have played to date. The combat system was extremely fun, as was loading up your guys with kickass weapons and fighting off ufos. I need to partition my hard drive because i have not yet figured out a way to run this game on XP...so sad.

I posted a link above for a program called DOSBOX that lets you run old dos games on windows xp.

AOEII was the bomb . . . but still nothing compares to Civ II, or Civ III for that matter. The level of immersion possible is insane.
