What's special about the gold edition except for a money making scheme by EA?

The mortar strike is perfect for taking out snipers who camp on the side mountain and hide behind rocks.

Got 4 kills in one air-strike last night :) Was good

At first I didn't like it because I'm a CoD fanboy and couldn't get used to the combat.

But once you're over the initial stages it is a completely different game because the maps are 5x as big with tanks, jeeps, helicopters, flak cannons, artillery etc etc..

This demo has made me bored of CoD and any spare time I have to play xbox in between revision is now on this demo.. so kinda given up on getting the golden dragonuv

The five guns normally unlocked at level 25 are available right off the start with the gold edition. That's it. But there's one (or two) that I really want. I'm not sure if I'm willing to spend an extra 10 bucks though.

I would've already had all the gold rifles in COD had I not chose to go prestige so many times. :).. maybe. But like you say, COD4 is almost kind of boring- not much stuff to do compared to this game. It's why I went to Frontlines: Fuel of War, when it came out.. . so much more to do. Huge maps. 50 players.

Lol at single player not getting a mention. It is pretty crap. Especially compared to CoD

^I haven't even tried it yet. COD4 single player is awesome, as short as it may be.

I've heard that the single player in BBC is basically like multiplayer, cept against NPCs, and possibly a try at a story? But I don't know.. the game is basically out for gold.. don't know what kind of gripping story they could make out of that, unlike in COD, which seemed to bring you into each character you played- at least from what I remember.

I've heard that the next installment of Call of Duty will be a more massive set up for online.. similar perhaps to Battlefield. Can't wait to see.

It actually only tajes 3 rockets to ill a tank, 2 if you hit them in the right spot (I'll let you fugure that one out). Get a specialist to help you take out tanks to, it's a lot easier. Personally I think this is way better than Cod4, but then agin I never did really like that game.
Best class in the game though has got to be suppurt, there gun rapes in mid range battles, able to heal your own troops and vechiles and the mortar strike kicks ass for clearing out buildings and destroying cover.

You've not played it on Veteran mode then.. Still not completed it after days of playing

What? BF not for PC? I've been an avid battlefield player since 1942. DICE has betrayed us :( oh well, I'll go back to playing Bf2 then.

I think hold b next to the boxes to set the charge.

If you're talking about the charges for the special ops guy then I have no idea.

Ah yeah.... that's it.

How do you get better weapons? I picked up a Barratt 50 cal yesterday and it was much more effective than the pea-shooter sniper rifle you start off with.

Never mind... just figured it out.

Sign up for the pre-release at selected vendors to get the sniper rifle upgrade (Play.com is the only UK vendor).

Sign up to newsletter for light machine gun upgrade (sign up screen doesn't work in Firefox).

Reach level 4 in demo to get sub-machine gun upgrade.

Register with Veteran Programme what looks like another SMG variant upgrade (not sure how to do this).

Check on-line stats for assault rifle upgrade (not sure how to do this).

^yea, correct, but there's no way of getting them before the retail release. the demo doesn't have a place to put in that certain code, anyways.

other unlockables (including the 50 cal) are unlocked by playing ranked matches and increasing your overall points. You get "unlock credits" which can then be used to unlock a single weapon each. Only three allowed in the demo. I would suggest the airstrike (goggles) as one, as you can get quite a few kills this way.. while also being very helpful.

I'm now ranked sub 900! (The top 100 or so, or more- i don't know.. are boosting. Look it up on youtube "Battlefield Bad Company Boosting"- something like that.

To check stats, just go in multiplayer menu and then stats/leaderboard, i think.

I'm a bit annoyed because I only got two upgrades. One of them didn't credit into my account.

I've heard quite a few people complaining about accounts not updating, xp being lost and other account problems.

There's 4 levels but only 3 unlocks in the demo.

When you get level 3 you don't get an unlock credit.. have to get the next level

Meh... I got yer tank from my helicopter.

You'll be glad to know that you're my first confirmed kill by helicopter. :D

I've decided to pre-order. The game itself might not be up to much, but I can see how the online aspect will be fun.

just pre-ordered gold. I found out I can get 30 bucks for GTA IV trade in, +50% extra trade in credit with a coupon I have, plus an extra 10% i have with the gamestop card.. so that's like 48 bucks off. still half debating on trading it in... but I only play one game at a time usually, so.. yada.
