At Rainbow you'll find people from all communities and demographics, joined together by a shared desire to celebrate life and to learn and experience new things.

Set in a beautiful location under the clear blue summer sky.

The Rainbow Village area combines a range of creative activities, dance, theatre discussion, conscious sound and the latest healing modalities to provide a place for growth and personal wellbeing. New Act Announcements!

Neil Joseph Stephen Fraser is a dub music producer and engineer known for his original productions and remix work. He is considered one of the leading producers of dub music’s second generation and was instrumental in transitioning dub into the digital age. He is a prolific producer, contributing to or producing nearly 200 albums. He has collaborated with reggae artists such as Lee "Scratch" Perry, Sly and Robbie, Pato Banton, Jah Shaka and Horace Andy, as well as artists outside the realm of traditional reggae and dub, such as Sade, Massive Attack, The Orb, and Brazilian DJ Marcelinho da lua. We warmly welcome him as a massive addition to the Rainbow 2010 line up.

Gabriel Ananda is from Cologne, Germany. He is known for his diversity of sound in which he melds a mixture of techno, house, electro, and Dub music into his DJ sets and musical productions.

Refreshingly different from the common Techno mainstream Gabriel Ananda breaks hearing-habbits using well dosed deep structured sounds. Connoisseurs of the uncommon enjoy his straight and fiddly cool beats.

In 2006 he released the massively successfully EP "Miracel Whop" on Platzhirsch Schallplatten. This will be his first time at Rainbow Serpent and his playful psychedelic style will no doubt be a great contribution to the festival.

There are few more inspired artists working in electronic music today than Charlie May. As the architect behind many of the stylistic blueprint shifts in dance since the early heady days of acid house and as one half of revered progressive house pioneers Spooky; the engineer and producer of many of Sasha’s biggest singles and albums, May knows a thing or two about what makes a dancefloor tick.

This producer and DJ has consistently blazed a trail of innovation which has underpinned many of the most important developments in electronic music! In 2009 he has released a new double mixed cd under “spooky” on platypus records, and look out for a new solo album showcasing his sounds!s

Boris Brejcha began producing and dj-ing in November 2006 and with his first online MP3 debut Monster EP and the following EP named Yellow Kitchen, he reached number one on many download platforms, and became the new techno shooting star playing gigs not only in his home country Germany but abroad. Boris joined Harthouse Mannheim at the beginning of 2007 with the digital releases Outer Space, White Snake and others.

Boris is constantly searching for fresh & unknown elements in his sound. Now he is looking forward for his third album which will come in the beginning of 2010! We have been receiving request for a number of years to bring Boris over for Rainbow, in 2010 we are more than pleased to oblige!

Magnus Birgersson, a Swedish based electronic music composer has been involved in many projects since a teenager, playing drums, percussions, piano and keyboards for various bands before launching his own project Solar Fields in 2001 with the album Reflective Frequencies.

Magnus has always built a unique sound universe, poles apart from current trends in the genre, he explores the wide possibilities of ambient, atmospheric, deep, ecstatic, industrial yet organic, cultivating contrasts and subtlety with brio.

In November 2005 he released his third and fourth album “Leaving Home” and “Extended”, both albums received critical acclaim opening new horizons for Magnus Birgersson and his true visionary work.

We have a forum called Australian Social and Events, which is where this thread belongs.

Shifting there from Homeless Threads.

Will definately be going to this. It will be my first one (other years I've been out of the country or had no cash). Would definately be keen to meet some bluelighters!

I haven't seen many psy acts announced. Do they generally leave the announcement of the psy acts until later? I don't mind progressive, but it seems to be all the rage at the moment and I'm getting over it a bit.

There's not heaps of psytrance at Rainbow Serpent but don't let that put you off. It's the mother of all doofs in Australia.

WTF?! When did Rainbow Serpent kill off psytrance??? Sorry, it's been over five years since I've been in Oz...and about seven or so since going to one. Back then it was like 80 - 90% psytrance.

You will still enjoy the beats at Rainbow, even if there is less Psy there (although some nice banging djs already announced)

But the vibe is what makes you want to go back . . . . . . . .

See you there, Psytaco, andyturbo.

Any one else want to catch up PM me before the date!!!!

I think the only cooker you can have is if it's fixed in a campervan.

I made a big salad for EGA and took wraps. That was fine in my esky for 3 days. They should have ice for sale at rainbow to restock your esky. Apart from that, mueslie bars and tinned fruit are great for snacks.

The food stalls are really good though and reasonably priced.

I will be there this year. Hanging out for OTT, Abakus and Solar Fields :D

Too bad I dont have a camper. :(

But it is a relief that they will sell ice :D I was getting all preped for drinking nothing but warm drinks all day.

Ive never heard of any on the artists playing before so this will all be an entirely new experience for me, I had a look at the website and checked out a few of them, I liked the sound of Ree K, Abakus and Gabriel Ananda & Marcel Janovsky.

Am looking forward to this so much. Am hoping it lives up to what everyone has been saying and I'll be another converted raver.
