I took 40 mgs of Vicodin and 4 mgs of Xanax about 6 hours ago. It knocked me on my butt, but I managed to stay awake, and now I'm strangely full of energy. I have only recently started taking these and was wondering if this is common/happens to anyone else?

Yes but not in that order.. I save the Xanax for later, like bedtime or watching a movie. Also if I'm on a break from opiates completely, those are nice to have around. The Vicodin will give you energy until your tolerance builds, so enjoy that while it lasts. Unless you aren't going to take it multiple days in a row. I never take opiates more than two days in a row.. Prevents addition/withdrawals, and keeps my tolerance stay low.

The first month or two, vicodin gave me a lot if energy, once you take it every day & build a tolerance, the energy slows down.

Tho when I up my dose, vicodin always still gives me energy, especially with xanax.

Back in the day when I would snort oxymorphone that would give me infinite energy for hours and then eventually I'd be nodding out hours later. Oxycodone did the same thing to a lesser degree, but I't be up at 7am playing with my dog in the yard after going to bed at 1am or 2am.

Not uncommon. You just hit what I like to call the "sweet spot" with opiates. You didn't use so much that it knocked you into an extended nap or nod. When I use the "right" amount of heroin I get energized and want to think and do all kinds of shit. I'm not a fan of the nod, I like being high, yet functional.
