Very basic question about meth

Hi there!

I have a very basic question about meth, but first let me explain my curiosity...

Methamphetamine is just impossible to find where I live. There are no legal amps here, and the closest drug available is femproporex chloridrate, a sympathomimetic amine which is metabolized to amphetamine by the body.

With about 200mg of femproporex taken orally, I can have peak for like a good hour or two after a 10-15 min onset. The high is fantastic (best drug i ever tried). However, after the peak, I have another 3-4 hours to enjoy. During this time, the high slowly fades out, and as it fades out I became feeling more and more anxious (smoking cigars helps). At some point (usually 5-6 hours after i ingested the drug) i became so anxious and with such an (lack of) sense of humor that the only thing I can do is go home and take LOTS of xanax and hypnotics to help me sleep. This is followed by a 1-2 days of the worst hangover ever.

The thing is, I always imagined that meth has much less side effects and a much longer pleasant high. But since I never had a chance to try it (and probably never will unless I go to USA or Europe), I'd like to know this basic stuff. How long does the pleasent high last, and how's the hangover?

If anyone could explain to me the same way i did with femproporex, i sincerely thank you!

Cheers!

I can't compare meth to a drug that I've never heard of but I'll descibe it's affects. The first few minutes are the most intense pleasure you can ever imagne, followed by about 6-8 hours of extreme-euphoria and strong stimulaton. The comedow time depends on dose of course, but somrthing like 12-18 hours before you'll be able to sleep. Lots of residual stimulation anf plenty of anxiety, but I don't find it as bad as many do. With a little kind bud I actually enjoy it. The first nght of sleep after will be light and restless. You will wake up still feeling somewhat high but hungry. You be pretty tired all day, so plan this around your work schedule. Second night you'll sleep like a rock. I'm descibing a good shot here, couple hits off a pipe will be dfferent.

Pretty much same with a pipe. or insufluated. *most* users dont just do one shot, one hit, or one line. they plan to stay up for a bit. the crash gets worse the longer you stay up.

Wow that sound's awesome! Getting 6 to 8 hours of an actually enjoyable high is fantastic! If this is true, then I'm pretty excited about meth.

As I said, the better stim I could get my hands so far is femproporex, and although it gives a good strong stimulation at the beginning, the euphoria doesn't last for long. At the first couple of hours, you indeed get a strong and stable euphoria, but then it starts to become more and more "unstable" as time passes. Actually, in about just 4 hours after that first "couple hour peak", you'll won't be feeling great at all. You'll be left only with plenty of anxiety and lack of any will to socialize. It's a too short of a high to become worth it IMO. As I see, meth seems to be much worth it as a stimulant, as it maintains the euphoria for much longer. In the other hand, femproporex is so poor as a stimulant, that won't even last a whole night, always letting you antisocial earlier than you wish. Said thing I won't find meth in my country.

Anyway, thanks so much for answering! I always wanted to know that.

yeah, fryingsquirrel pretty much hit 'er on the head.
it's much the same with a pipe, the difference being that instead of shooting it all at once, you'll most likely separate your bag into doses and load them into the pipe to prolong the experience of actually consuming the drug.

likewise, the comedown is extremely unpleasant for some people, usually lasting longer than the high itself. i myself don't have much of a problem with the comedown - i enjoy the jittery thoughts and twisted delusions.

I find it easiest to explain the meth high by breaking it down into stages:

1. The Rush: Especially when smoked or injected, meth will give you a massive wave of euphoria which usually lasts for around 5-10 minutes at its peak. This is due to the large release of dopamine, and also serotonin and norepinephrine.

2. The High: You're awake and alert, have increased energy and confidence, a decreased appetite, and you often feel very productive. This high can last between 6-8 hours, although it gradually decreases as time passes.

3. Tweaking: The high is reaching its end. You're still awake but starting to feel pretty uncomfortable, and you're craving another hit. I often get dazed and spaced out while I'm tweaking - I'll do random, pointless shit or just sit and stare into space.

4. The Comedown: The drug has worn off and you start to feel tired. Depression and anxiety are also quite common during a comedown, as your brain is depleted of dopamine. Depending on how much you've used, you may sleep heavily for one or more days.

5. The Withdrawals: If you're addicted to meth, withdrawals tend to kick in after 2-3 days without a hit. For me, they've mainly consisted of severe (often suicidal) depression, anxiety and panic attacks, intense cravings, and total physical and mental exhaustion.

That's based on my experiences with meth, anyway.
