The Vermont House has given final approval to a bill that would remove criminal penalties for possession of up to an ounce of marijuana. The bill passed Tuesday on a vote of 92 to 49, after being given preliminary approval Friday.

This is a step in the right direction as far as I am concerned.
Vermont now joins Maine (at least Portland, Me) and Massachusetts in decriminalization.
I can only hope New Hampshire follows suit. They tend to lag behind their liberal neighbors... But being surrounded by states where it is decriminalized should set things in motion.

NH is also working on passing a tightly regulated MMJ bill. It has passed the House and should pass the Senate, with a new Governor it should pass over all whereas it has been vetoed many times in the past.

Regardless it seems this part of the country is slowly coming around.

the evergreen state

Don't get too excited. New York has had decriminalization since the 70s but still arrests hundreds of thousands for cannabis every year.
