Verify 2c-i

Someone I met was wondering how to verify the 2c-i that he purchased is the real deal. Is there a method, or should he just measure out the dose and hope for the best?

Also, I hear the best way for measuring doses without a scale is by making a solution. If the solution is made, is there a way to unmake, by letting the water evaporate?

Last, is there a way to measure the amount of 2c-i prior to making the solution? Is a standard scale accurate enough, I don't want my friend to have a solution with a ratio different from what he is expecting.

Thanks

You want a scale with at least 0.01g (that's 1mg) accuracy, ideally 0.001g/0.1mg accuracy. The 2C's are quite fickle with dosing, the difference between a good trip and an overwhelming experience can only be a few milligrams.

Don't cheap out on your scale, you'll be happy you didn't :)

0.01 g is 10 mg. You want a scale that is 0.001 g (1 mg) with the ideal scale being 0.0001 g accuracy (0.1 mg). You can find 30 dollar scales that have alright accuracy above 10-15 mg which is more than what you should be using to make a solution.

Yes you can unmake a solution by letting the water evaporate.

If you are unsure of your product try 1-2 mg and wait to see if there are effects. If there aren't its likely that whatever you take, while it might not be 2C-I, won't kill you at the standard dose of 15-25 mg.

Am I reading that correctly that a 30 dollar scale will be fine for making the solution? I figure that measuring out a large amount, say .25 g, and making a solution with that, any error will be masked by the size and will be negligible. Is that correct?

My specific 30 dollar scale yes. It is accurate to within +- 2 mg on either side down to 10 mg so any error at 250 mg would be negligible as long as the solution is made correctly. It can be a bit iffy if measuring out single doses but it is workable. I wouldn't want to use it for any DOx, 2C-P or NBOMe single dose but I don't so there is no issue.

I have one of http://www.amazon.com/American-Weigh-Gemini-20-Portable-Milligram/dp/tags-on-product/B0012TDNAM. If you plan on researching some of the compounds I listed above I recommend getting a better scale (will cost you 150+).
