Veins in the crooks of my arms are scarred up. Where now?

Hi everyone, I'll keep it short. I've been shooting various beauties into the crooks of my arms for a few months and then all of a sudden - on the same night - both of them have gone. Can't hit either left or right and it happened on the same day, which seems very odd. I literally cannot find another decent vein ANYWHERE on my body and I'm jonesing pretty bad right now.

Where else can I go for a guaranteed hit?! (Not the femoral, before anyone says).

Kind regards.

Try this: turn the bath water on hot. Let the hot water run over your feet for a while, this will bring veins to the surface. Swipe w/alcohol and try a foot vein . Careful, they roll easily, if you can stablize the vein with a finger (pull it in the direction it runs AWAY from the syringe) it might help too.

Your hands?
That will work too if you don't mind tracks on your hands where everybody will see them.

The reason I'm not using my hands is, as you said, because the tracks will be very obvious. As for madog11's superbly concise response, that doesn't answer my question.

Nsauce, that sounds like a good idea! I shall give it a go. I remember a while back I tried my feet and didn't have much luck but I'll certainly try again. Thanks for the good advice :)

My point is, is that if you've fucked up all your usable veins, unless you wanna take huge risks by going to arteries i think it's time you accepted your problem and started to get out of it. Hence my suggestion of rehab...

Go for the vein on your bicep. I'm pretty sure it's the same one that you hit in the crook of your arm.

Hands aren't too bad but they are smaller and roll kinda easy. Also wouldn't inject a large amount of fluid there, keep the shot small. As long as the needle is 29g or smaller, I don't think you should get noticeable tracks on your hands unless you're hitting there often.

Yeah the bicep vein is a good idea as well, used to hit that when I was too shaky to hit on my forearm. Do some curls or pushups first if you need to pump the vein up, but at least on me-the bicep vein is a solid, easy hit and doesnt roll like other veins - it is also a bit deeper and not as easily visible. Be careful.

Don't forget to sterilize your injection site, bathtubs have lots of mold and fungus, even if the tub appears clean.

pretty sure you have two main veins in each arm, fine a vein diagram. anyway, hows your technique? a few months...?

there is a really good vein on both your wirsts/forarms nicknamed the dumby vein and that is the easiest spot i've ever hit

That happened to me as well. It's odd though-I found if I leave a well used area alone for a good while, they do recover sometimes. When I find new sites I try not to use the exact same area.. like travel up and down the vein (that works for me anyway) I know how you feel, it sucks.

I use the veins in my hands and the vein that runs down your wrist by your thumb. That is a rather good vein to hit but you need to have the technique down path because it rolls even worse then the veins in your hands.

As for tracks on your hands i find they don't scar nearly as easy or are much less noticeable then in the crook of your elbow and who the hell looks for tracks on your hands? Then again my hands are basically all scar tissue from punching stuff/people and from working shitty jobs. So what's a few track marks? :\

If you run out of veins in the crook of your elbow and your hands you should really stop IVing altogether and switch to oral opiates if opiates are what you generally shoot. Don't be one of those guys that end up with no veins in your arm's hands and feet and then stupidly resort to shooting into their cock 8o . I know atleast 3 people that have done that but they where all IV coke users. IV coke is by far the worst for your veins as cocaine itself fucks your veins up not to mention you are shooting up every 5 minutes atleast.

Vein care goes along way all the same. I have been IVing for about 3 years and my veins are still as easy to hit as they where when i first started. Using new syringes everytime, alcohol swabs and applying polysporin or some kind of other anti-biotic cream with vitamin E in it after you inject is the best way to avoid track marks and other nasty things. Also using the smallest possible gauge needle you can use helps alot. I use 30 gauge short tips all the time and they barely leave any mark after injection.

Vitamin E lotion definitely helped to cover up some tracks/bruises I left myself when I first started IVing. I got ambidextrous with the needle though so it's all good now.

I dont understand people that "use up" their crooks.

I mean I can think of off hand at least 6 injection sites on each arm i'd rotate before even thinking of the hands. That is 12 injection sites... Have you looked at a vein map?

also- proper technique would eliminate vein collapse as well as tracks. see the safe injection/ injection techniques threads in OD for tips.
#1 is ALWAYS use a fresh point EVERY time. simple!

That vein map was a god send to me when I began Iving but as for 12 sites - 6 on each arm.... I've never been that lucky, I have even sat with sterile water once and poked myself so much I looked like a crumpet by the time I'd used up my WHOLE PACK-to no avail either. But the vein map is fantastic.

I was able to use crook for over 10 years when I lived in Europe dope was great ( didn't even need cooking) but once I started tar they didn't last long. I'm great at getting others off. Now most times take a few tries. I make sure I feel the vein (forearms n hands) with tar I tend to IM. With tar why bother it's not that different. Your feet n ankles r worth using but they don't last long

This, drink a lot of water or run warm water on your forearm
Sitting in the sun also helps them pop out

I have three fat ones right on the top of my left forearm I could have used instead of the three places in my crook where I would usually rotate

Try going just above the fold in your elbow, but a few inches on the inside (towards your body) kind of on the inner side of your arm, there's a good gusher there that is hard to see but very easy to hit blind. Picture about four inches from the main vein you use, towards the body, and about two inches above the fold from your elbow. Might take a few pokes but once you find it you're set.
