Vein trouble

Hi
Been banging up gear for bout a year now was having a few problems getting myself but eventually I found a right nice vein in the crook of my elbow. Used that a lot so of course eventually it's ends up getting blocked. I have tried other places like crook of my elbow on the other arm but I seem to keep missing and it's very painful.
Tried my leg today and thought I hit vein coz it drew back blood but when I try to push the substance in its fuckin painful so have to stop. I always thought this pain meant the vein was blocked but how could my leg one be if I have just first gone near it?
God I wish my other vein would heal up quickly and get back to normal. I will mention my veins are so hard to see and evens experienced IV users find it hard to get me.
Oh and I tried my hand but same thing agsin, such pain when I start to push. Tho that was the bad arm.
Any ideas or helpful suggestions?

When you say that your veins are becoming blocked, what you need to picture is this:

You put the needle in and you could potentially hit the "other side" of it, and when this happens it's like tying a rope around a tube - The vein sort of closes itself off at the point of IV.

I've no suggestions I'm afraid, and I do feel this would be better suited to another section of BL (purely so you get more answers / ideas).

Sounds like you are hitting arteries when you say you see blood but it hurts so bad. Don't hit arteries.

To me it sounds like you are slipping out after you register. Or your pushing the needle through the vien as your starting to shoot. does the injection site swell up like a missed shot when your finished?

There should be absolutely no pain while pushing the plunger down. You are not in a vein.

Also...what do you mean your veins get blocked? Blocked with what?

When a vein is used over and over again, they can become obstructed which causes blood to be unable to flow through them. With time a vein can sometimes heal, though sometimes, they will not. Injecting into the lower extremities is not a good idea unless pretty much all the veins in your arms and hands are gone (and at that point, it's better to just switch back to smoking/sniffing/plugging). The blood flow is slower in youre feet and in your legs, so in the case of a miss, infection is more likely.

The best thing is to be proactive and prevent further abuse by using a brand new pin every time you penetrate the skin. No exceptions... It will work wonders. And rotate injection sites. Don;'t shoot in the same spot twice in one day.. ideally the injectoin site would be fully healed before using it again.

Ok thanks for all that info guys. Think I am going to stay away from injecting for a while until my usual spot is healed up anyway.

If you start using smaller veins in the hand for example then u need to press the plunger very slowly as it will be painful (more nerves) do you have wrist veins? ones on the back of the fore arm? - if you have only been fixing for a year or so then you should have lots of options , took me 20y to fuck all mine up - unless you are a girl who is quite slim then it can be v hard.
