Vasoconstriction

As I'm sure many people on here have experienced, many drugs (Stimulants/Ergo Alkaloids etc...) can have some very unpleasant side effects. A lot of these negative effects may caused by the vasoconstriction.

Would something like a sublingual Glyceryl Trinitrate spray help alleviate these problems? I was thinking GTN because of the ease of geting hold of it (in the UK anyway) and because of it's rapid onset.

I just thought that if this works then GTN should be as essential a part of my peronal first aid kit as tranquilisers are. i.e Diazepam for the morning after to stop me feeling so tense and to help me sleep/relax and GTN to remove some of the unpleasant vasoconstriction effects.

Would this work? Is there something that may work even better?

Thanks for any info.

Clonidine is best for this. In fact, ADHD patients who get dextroamphetamine (like myself), get clonidine along with it - because it helps stabilize the heart rate and blood pressure.

GTN here in North America is called nitroglycerin and that has a lot of interactions, plus it drops the blood pressure very low and is meant for people who have extremely high blood pressure. It also gives people bad headaches (on stims, you wouldn't want that)

Nice one. I didn't think about Clonidine. And yeah, GTN gives a bad ass headache. It's like a really strong version of Amyl Nitrite with all the decent effects removed.

I'll give Clonidine a try next time.

Cheers bruv.

Well in regards if you are searching as how to alleviate the vasoconstrictive properties of stims a simple albeit not one hundred percent efficient or effective solution lays in Ibuprofen which is to my knowledge a non steroidal anti inflammatory drug and if you ingest a dose or doses depending on what drug has been used the Ibuprofen counteracts the systemic constriction of the body's blood vessels by countering with a system wide dilution of the body's blood vessels. In layman unless mistaken I believe taking a certain dose of Ibuprofen (which depends on the amount of the 'stimulant' you use) during or shortly after using the 'upper' the Stim will shrink your blood vessels and the Ibuprofen will open them, cancelling eachother out and hopefully leaving a steady even blood flow through your body. Good luck with the boner bro!! Lmfao jk jk

on another forum it has been claimed and agreed by quite a few people that cayenne pepper cures vasoconstriction rapidly. (i would post a link to the other site, but its currently down)

eat a whole bunch of it and your problem will be solved. im telling the truth as well. I haven't tried it myself tho.

Personally I use aspirin to allieviate the constriction as it thins the blood, putting less strain on the blood vessels and heart.

I have Clonidine which I have tried and it works well. And normally if I get a headache/tense neck then I take a couple of Ibuprofen although I didn't know that it possibly helps with vasoconstriction.

Out of interestl, with the Cayenne Pepper would the dried and ground powder work or should you use fresh peppers?

I love peppers and Cayenne Peppers would be a good ingredient to use when the stim starts to wear off and you start getting a little bit hungry.

Ibuprofen has no effect on heart rate or blood pressure. It won't lower it for her, that's for sure.

Clonidine is the #1 most prescribed hypotensive drug for patients taking stimulants because it's a vasodilator. I'm an ADHD patient and my doctor wanted to give me clonidine to add to my dextroamphetamine to lower blood pressure and heart rate, but I refused because I don't get those effects anymore since I've been on them for so long.

In addition, clonidine is the safest. Just one 0.1mg tablet should be sufficient to lower your blood pressure and stabilize it (make it normal).

I think any type of cayenne pepper works and it very quickly gets rid of any vascoconttiction. not sure why, but i think it probably has some vasodilators in it somewhere. Someone was saying that it made their hands and feet hot after stims instead of the usual cold hands and feet. interesting.

From the looks of things i would say you need about a spoonfull of cayenne pepper sauce, and just get it down with some food or summin.
