Vapor Star - Weird Screen?

So I just purchased a VaporStar online. I received it, and before using it I inspected it. I found that the screen in the bowl of the wooden cone was 3 different colors. About 2/3 of it was bright gold, and 1/3 of it was a metallic silver color, and the 2 colors were separated by a 'band' or stripe of red/blue color.

The product was advertised as new, and the wooden cone and steel cap showed no evidence of having been used, but the tweezers that it comes with shows fading on the first 2 "W"s in the branded "www.vaporstar.co.uk"--meaning the first 2 "W"s are the same color as the metal of the tweezer . So these factors combined with the fact that it was purchased online from an individual at an auction site (not a company) make me question its condition. Here's some pictures of the screen as well as one of the tweezer. In all pictures the silver color is on the left, and gold is on the right.

So what do you guys think is the deal with this product?

^^It was about the same price as a new one. But I didn't smell any resin. If it had been used, wouldn't the wood smell of herb? I don't think wood can be cleaned because it's porous. And also, if used wouldn't the screen turn black rather than gold/silver? The screen on the metal cap is silver.

What I could really use is someone who has bought one to confirm what color the screen is when new.

^^ Shit, I think you are right. The worst thing is it doesn't even work properly. I tried all kinds of different inhalation speeds/techniques and rarely get a visible vapor. I do get it rarely, but it takes probably 15 attempts to get one good toke.

i own a VaporStar and it works fine for me. What kind of pipe are you using and how long does it take you to toke (dunno if this is expressed right, English is not my maternal language).

i personally inhale as slow as i can and for at least 15-20 seconds. also depends on the herb you are using, with some it is easier to get visible vapor within a smaller amount of time.
