Vaping risks

I really value my ability to breathe and hate the thought of hurting my lungs. I'm not super scared of other kinds of bodily damage but I absolutely am opposed to giving myself lung problems.

I know "popcorn lung" can happen with vaping, as can lung collapse. I'm wondering how those risks compare to classical smoking.

I can (and have done) sublinguals and edibles but am debating switching my ROA to something faster acting.

Assume that no tobacco is involved in either case.

I live in a $a¢rifi¢ed cannuck province where "concentrates" translate into 70 % contaminants and Health Canada's huge of Pest Control Products come with a concept of NON-DETECTION without any combinatorial C(n, r) restrictions, where the SQdC punishes law-compliant citizens by selling them e-cigs tailored to fit that very same madness with over-pricing/over-taxing as a bonus. Which ain't a nice way to start it IMHO! Next, there's the mechanical aspect resulting from a sabotaged reform rooted in the 2014 FCTC/COP6 of Moscow, e.g. from Russia the champions of all democratic nations, yano?... That's how we got the ban on flavours, ignoring the simple fact that these could prove useful as a bio-feedback signal actually helping to avoid monster clouds - the one big pink elephant floating under the roof if you ask me. All to please bigot prohibitionists planning to make a dime on it for the next half century and beyond. So yes, vaping can hurt indeed, but have you stopped a minute to reflect on why this is happening? How come did vaping turn deadly a few years ago while smoking never killed this fast?? Inhalation remains quick and efficient, the trouble is the other camp won't help us with it: they're waiting for us to disapear one by one and their patience is short. M'well, i called this vilification and that didn't please everyone, perhaps vilainization works better but i'm expecting the result not to differ. The true purpose of « légaleezation » was to destroy cannabis in more ways than one, by creating contrasting tensions at the borders for example. Etc., etc. In the end the blame will go on forever. no wonder, as long as it's all blurred into one fuzzy melting pot.

Ever since switching to a dry herb vape for cannabis, I haven't had any tars in my lungs and my smokers cough has gone away. Dry herb vapes are the way to go.

I guess it's related to how much you vape too.

Why not make a vape cart that's as strong as fuck with D9 so you only need 3 hits to get gonged?

Or a dynavap. Vaping herb is basically the same as smoking but with fewer particulates and a solid hit on a fully packed Dyna will get most people as you say gonged. Concentrates are a bit more of an unknown.

That said vaping neat distillate is normally what I do, mainly for the convenience and lack of smell.

That makes sense in terms of the mechanical stress on our human repiratory system (lungs & veins), except for the e-cig substrate and also a THC-centric signature.

Then you loose the « entourage effect ». Don't expect anything healthy from seeking extremes...

Quite clearly THC-centric genetics are the result of MAN-MADE extreme selection which has been mis-guided by mercantile dynamics. The same applies to so-called "balanced" 1:1 THC:CBD which is just the opposite of a buzz-focussed trend, with Full-CBD as its ultimate denial:

Leafly: How to help consumers understand the amount of THC and CBD in their cannabis (2017-Nov-29)

This simple but most evocative graphic actually reveals one obvious aspect of cannabis "VILIFICATION" by socio-toxic 3rd-parties, and that's only the begining of a Frankeinstein creature gone wild that politi¢ian$ like to call "légaleezation", « In The Name Of Children! » aHummm...

Good day, have fun!! ☮️

Is there anything to the idea that with it being so sticky the distillate could reform in your lungs and stick there like shit to a blanket?

If you don't wanna risk vaping the liquids, id echo the dry vape option. Or you could use a little bong, smoking a few bowls a day is much better than big joints as you get stoned off 1 hit. You can get 1 hitter pipes that store your weed for smoking on the go too.

I love eating it tho. I find the high is much nicer. I just decarb, or even better gently fry (very gently) some hash in a half tsp oil/butter, melt your favourite chocolate and pour into moulds. Its lovely, the chocolate and melted hash means great dose consistency, and the spiciness of the hash goes so well with chocolate.

You could buy full spectrum distillate, add terps if needed, and either make your own carts or use a dab device.

No can do, not legally anyway. Living in Québec/Canada implies that we're all forced to deal with the monopolistic SQdC where they think the normal thing is chronic self-poisoning from 70 % of UNDEFINED material NOT even written on a product's label - I know after verifying it once again, just a few seconds ago to be absolutely sure. So no good news there and of course we're forbidden to manufacture our own as well, since using home-grown plants ain't no legal option neither; this must be in case one might be tempted to compete this mafia in a school yard: In The Name Of Children, yano...

Go figure! But in principle you're correct, high purity doesn't necessarily mean it's about a mono-molecule substance. Which would be some great option actually, if their twisted political « legal = safe » slogan were anything true, evidently. Ideally, if there had been a mature responsible Public-Health motivation underneath then the clouds would no longer have to get multiplied 3-fold, and neither inflate mamoth-size. Too bad in practice this is a major factor having a very mechanical effect on the circulatory system to begin with, by causing inflamation to critical blood paths leading directly to our brains through our most vital hearts... Kapiche anyone?

Quite frankly, what's the unspoken motive behind such nonsense called "distillate", "resin" and "rosin" at the SQdC when in fact those are limited to 30 % by law, hummm? Truth is, in my "belle" province where a hard drug featured with severe morbidity is king (alcohol), m'well there's no doubt the bigot prohibitionni$ts are genuinely eager to get rid of us the "stoner$"/"droÿé$", real fast oh yeah. Now please tell me, who's the ones disconnected from reality, living in a fantasy world!!

Rosin and high quality love res vapes, ice support. Distillate is a dumping ground for the cannabis industry. Also, studies have shown that vaporizer dont get hot enough to burn off microbials and pesticides....so just know your source, homie

I am a heavy tobacco smoker. I switched to vaping (freebase and salt nicotine) for awhile. One person isn't a case study but I can tell you the following;

I can work outside all day in high humidity weather with no shade in 100F+ temperatures puffing on a cigarette all day. The moment I hit a vape I'm done. I can no longer breath. I saw zero benefits in switching to vaping. The cost difference was very little. In fact, it costs more than smoking. Assuming you're willing to make your own instead of buying pre-rolls (which I do). My weekly cost to smoke is $11 for over 200 cigarettes. My weekly cost for vaping was $15-$20 depending on how fast my coils got burned out.

Make of that what you will.

Ymmv as they say.

How long did you try the vape for?

I used to smoke rollies. I try to keep to straights these days because I'm trying to quit and the cost is a good deterrent.

I was in Indonesia a couple of weeks ago. About £1 for a deck of 20.

We don't really know the risks.

It would seem that dry herb vape is most likely the safest method of inhalation. E liquids made from Rosin seem like a good halfway point between herb and distillate if discretion is required.

Personally I like smoking a bong but I don't always get that luxury so the vapes are what I use. I don't go cheap though. Gotta buy quality.

Still not yet started my project where I extract all the tail ends of the vape cartridges and use it to fortify herb or soak spliffs in it. Who says marijuana causes procrastination...

At that price your practically cheaper smoking than not smoking right? Huh, yeah? Any chance of a fag, please?
