Vang Vieng

Hi all,

SWIM is taking a trip to SE Asia soon, and was thinking of visiting Vang Vieng. SWIM heard that most of the bars there closed recently, but was wondering if the ones still open still offer "special" menus? In particular SWIM wonders if it would still be easy and/or safe to consume "special" tea etc while on the premises of establishments that offer them.

PS: FYI, by "safe" SWIM means regarding to law enforcement.

Just so you know we don't really do the SWIM thing here. Apart from that, sourcing is not allowed on this forum which is how your post comes across, because of this I have no choice but to close your thread. You might want to refer to the forum guidelines before posting again to ensure that you conform to the rules.

I have never been to Laos, or South East Asia for that matter, I have been told that any premises which might offer these types of things generally bribe the police, and it is generally safe to consume those special items at the premises but taking them away from there is asking for trouble. Your mileage may vary, that is just what I have heard.

I am quite jealous of your upcoming trip, have always wanted to go to Laos myself, I am sure it will be a blast whether or not you use psychoactive substances.
