Hey im going to the dentist tomorrow to get somethings done to my teeth and the dentist gave me 10mg Valiums... i never took one before do you think that they are going to help me with the pain? b\c i have a very low tolerance for pain when im at the dentist...... thanx
 
They gave you Valium not for pain but to put you out of it while they do whatever it is they are doing, namely to calm you BEFORE the procedure .. if you have no tollerance to benzos it shoulddo the trick just fine!

The valium will take the edge off - it will make you not really give 2 shits about the dentist messing around in your mouth but it is not a pain killer. Only opiates will take away pain (or shitty OTC stuff like advil).
Drink a beer with the valium- kick it into hyperdrive.

I would assume it's to take the single Valium about 30-45 minutes before the procedure? Well, do that! Trust me, if they are giving you Valium tocalmyer nerves before a proceudre then it's probably something rather heavy-duty where they will give you ample pain medication... if you still feel pain, then damnit, complain!
Also, you couldalsosay thatyer prescribed something like 2mg Klonopin 3 times daily by yer psychitrist .. they may up the Valium dose ..
How qabout you tell me EXACTLY whatyer going infor and I might be able to offer more help...

Hey well yeah they gave it to me b\c i had a bad encounter with a dentist before by the way im getting a root canal done and i have panic attacks so yeah anyways im not gonna drink a beer with it lol but thanx for the replies im still nervous :\
By the way phreex i am on anti depressants but not any narcotics im on tripital 300mg but i know im going to have to get something for pain b\c i had one rootcanal done and it was horrible! maybe it was just the dentist i dunno but i have to take the valium 30 min before my appt.

yea, drinkin before operations isnt good, tat's included
it thins out your blood, which inturn will make you bleed more
 
Worried about beer on your breath at the dentist?? Really? Bakc when I was a hardcore pot head (many years ago) I used to smoke weed on the way to the dentist. This would help me deal with that Kenny G type shit that they play on the radio there and made the whole usually uncomfortable procedure kinda fun. The dentist never said anything about my nasty dry pot mouth.
Jeez- I used to abuse the shit out of weed.
