valium question

this is NOT a beat the drug test question, this is a genuine question.

my doc has changed my sleep meds from temazepam to zolpidem, i also was taking 30mg valium per day(for years). before i can start the zolpidem, the valium levels in my blood stream must be clear. i don't care about a urine test, the question is how long it takes valium to clear the blood stream. i have to book a blood test, it has been 2 weeks since i stopped the benzo's, obviously i have had ridiculous insomnia since, so i want to start the zolpidem as soon as i can. would it be worth booking a blood test now? or do i need to leave it longer? i would imagine if the levels turn up extremely low it would probably be ok.

The clearance rate is going to be different for each individual, for diaz its half life ranges from about 30 to 150 hours. It also depends heavily on the specifics of the drug test, ie. what is the threshold level of drugs in your system before it's considered a positive result.

Though this may be a 'genuine' question, it still falls under drug testing, and for the reasons I just gave you it's going to be impossible for anyone to give you a definite answer anyway.
