Valium Question

Not that I'm aware of.

I've only seen them in 2mg, 5mg and 10mg. I'm sure there are more but 200mg seems a little......excessive.

If there is, dayum, I want some.

I think its highly unlikely that one single pill would contain 200mg, perhaps the person offering it to you means 200mg as in 40 5mg pills ? Im not that experienced with valium having only had it a few times, I found 5 mg to be a reasonable dose though if you have never had it before maybe starting at 2.5mg would be the safer option (or even lower if they are 2mg pills). Some more infomation is available here and here (just type valium in the box ;))

Im prescribed valium for opiate withdrawals at the moment and they commonly come in the dosages mentioned above. A normal prescription will contain 50 pills with possible repeats. As a person who is barely effected by diazepam I shudder to consider a single pill with 200 mg in it!! It would knock you out cold and potentially even depress your breathing to extremely dangerous levels...
I suggest checking MIMS if you have a password/account .

I too would assume that they mean more than one tablet. 5mg is the most common. 200mg at once would almost certainly knock you out. I think that valium is a good thing to have around though for bad trips and to aid in sleeping. I would probably try around 5mg-15mg for a first time. 15mg if you really want to feel the effects. At 5mg the effects will be subtle but you should still notice it. Just remember not to drink too much if you take some.

yeah ive only seen the 2s and 5mg's. im not sure it comes in a higher strength in australia...

when i get vals though i just save them for my next codeine experience... 300mg codeine + 10-15mg diazepam.

nice.

Valium (Diazepam) that is given to you on prescription by a doctor is only available in 2mg & 5mg strengths. (for australia that is). I believe that 10mg tablets were once available, although this has ceased to be the case.

Yes you're right... i meant to say that 10mg used to be available in Australia but no longer are. You can still get them in a number of other countries... America to name one :)

I am reasonably small, but 15mg does me fine. For someone with no tolerance or experience the dosages you suggested for a start off dose are a bit high.

Here's one perspective from Erowid Experience Vaults:
Some Words on After-Effects
Diazepam
by Pablo

Pharms - Diazepam

BODY WEIGHT : 280 lb

I have recreationally used Valium on numerous occasions in doses ranging from 10mg up to 50mg. Here are my conclusions:

- In doses of 10-20mg, Valium generally produces a mild euphoric buzz with a sense of calm, relaxtion, sedation and mild muscle relaxant qualities.

- At doses higher than 20mg, I find that the buzz becomes too heavy & sedating to enjoy - I just have a tendency to want to go to sleep.

- Using alcohol & Valium in combo seems to just create a greater depressant effect. A couple of drinks with a low dose of Valium - 10mg - seems OK & a sensible limit to observe. However, combining Valium with alcohol is a risky proposition. LARGE quantities of alcohol & Valium in combination could be serious - coma or even death in some cases.

- One negative thing I would point out about Valium is the after effects. I find that Valium, especially if used fairly regularly (several times a week), tends to build up in your system. In technical terms, Valium has a half-life of approx. 40 hours and the major metabolite of Valium - desmethyldiazepam - has a half-life of 100 hours. In laymans terms this means that Valium will hang around in your system, causing subtle active effects for several days after taking the drug. What I find is that this causes a sense of mild depression and a mild dulling of the senses which lasts for about 3-5 days. However, I know others who use Valium who say that they do not perceive any depressive/dulling effects at all. Your mileage may vary ...

5mg is a nice recreational dose, any more will most likely knock you out.
When i was in detox the heroin addicts were recieving 15 - 24 5mg tablets at a time and they were still complaining.
Its real easy to get hooked on it so be careful.
