I think I heard or read somewhere that swallowing Valium only half of it really hits you due to some metabolizing problems or some shit I don't know the proper reason all I know is that piece of info. And that when taken sublingual you get the full dose (in my case 10mg).

Anyone know the validation of this statement? Not meaning to sound dumb, thought I'd ask.

It's called the bioavailability and differs with different dosing methods.

If you go into the "OD Directory" as found in my signature there will be a thread on bioavailability that has diazepam's oral B.A. That being said it is quite high (over 80 percent) for benzos.

Dosing sublingually will likely increase the onset of action and may slightly increase the overall B.A. but in this case it is more a personal preference than a clearly superior route.

Valium is one of my favorite benzos. Usually when I take them, I will swallow 75 percent of my dose, then take the rest sublingually. This way I start to feel them literally in 15 minutes, and still get the long duration valium is good for.

Many benzos have better bio-availability when taken sublingually. They hit you faster, and more of the drug can be metabolized into the good stuff that will make you high.

I was actually contemplating this idea, or 50/50. I'm glad you like it, so I'll give it a go. I fear I'm getting a nasty tolerance though, ugh.
