Hi quick quick question bout Valium overdose. How much could one take before it starts to become dangerous mid 20's 6ft male I know its dependant upon tolerance I believe I have quite a high tolerance tho been takin 30mgs a day for a year. Pls don't cum bk to me n say its subjective just like a mg amount.Thanks

The therapeutic index/ratio (LD50:ED50) of diazepam is about 1000:1. This means that the lethal dose is about 1000x the effective therapeutic dose. In layman's terms, it's really hard to OD on diazepam. If this is combined with any other sedatives, opioids, alcohol, etc. then it becomes MUCH easier so you still need to be careful.
Also, to many in these parts, 30mg/day wouldn't be considered a high tolerance.

^ what Cane said, you are much more likely to hurt yourself by blacking out and doing something stupid. And of course, withdrawals are potentially a lot more dangerous than ODs.
You'd need to take several hundred grammes to cause death some where between 300 and 700 from the first link I looked at, I've taken rather allot of it this evening (more than 100mgs) so not really in a state to research it for you.
What you are looking for is called the LD50 I'd use the word Diazepam in any google searches as valium is a trade name , you'll soon get an answer .
30mgs isn't a great deal at all in abuse terms, I've been on 100mgs + a day for months, I'm not saying its a good idea but it wont kill you unless you drown yourself in the stuff

OP, 30 mg isn't much to be honest. I take 150+ mgs a day. I do NOT recommend that tho.
The big thing you gotta worry about is blackin out or the bad wd's. Withdrawals from benzos can be quite dangerous.

My taper starts tomorrow so I thought I'd better make the best of it, lost count how much I've done today, but I'll be down to zero in mid May and then that's it the relationship is finished this time, it just didn't work out, I'm going for divorce on the grounds of unreasonable behavior i.e. gaining tolerance at an unreasonable pace. I never black out on Diaz even at stupid doses I just fall to sleep, my memory is largely OK to so its definitely time to bail out before it catches up with me.

Lmao @ divorcin the diazepam. I feel the same way! I have a stupid tolerance to benzos across the board. 150 mg of diazepam? Nothin. 20+ mgs of alprozolam, nothin. Stupid benzos!

sounds like you have a plan and you know what you wana do.. just stick with it because its mostly mental, i think the worst thing that can happin in withdrawl of benzos is seizures so be careful and stick with it bro

30mg isn't a high tolerance. That's not low-low, but just about. That's slightly greater than my 2mg/day clonazepam script (1mg clonaz = 10mg diaz).
OD'ing on benzos alone is relatively difficult, from what I've read. When mixed with other drugs (particularly CNS depressants) it's a whole different tale to be told, however.
Why do you need to know a specific amount (in mg) to OD? We can't help you commit suicide (I suggest checking The Dark Side if you need emotional support).
As atm23 stated - the LD50 tells a partial tale as to the Lethal Dose - anticipated for 50% of the population (less than 1 standard deviation from the mean). It also IS highly subjective to the individual, whether you like it or not, sorry.

I can honestly tell you that you will NOT OD from diazepam, you well never be in possession of enough of it to OD.
That said - Taken in extremely high doses you will black out and could cause yourself to die from doing stupid things.
Speaking as someone that was scripted 120mg a day and have taken over a gram at once, 30mg is no where near the LD50.
However, you don't want to be on daily diazepam for any long extended period of time. Trust me, the sooner you stop the better.
