If someone was to take 20mg of Citalopram, and 20mg of Valium, to which they have no tolerance, and 5mg of Endone, to which they have no tolerance, how great is the risk of respiratory depression?

It is also important to note that this person consumed 4mg of Xanax approximately 15 hours before, as well as 20mg of Citalopram and spent the day before ingesting the Xanax smoking methamphetamine.

Basically, will they be fine or should they get themselves of to the hospital?

Citalopram is mildly stimulating if anything and the doses of endone and valium aren't really that much. I wouldn't worry, I would just enjoy it

Those doses are quite low even for someone with no tolerance, the risk is minimal. When taking combos of respiratory depressants it's good to have at least one other (relatively sober) person around though. Have they had any alcohol with it?

I wasn't aware people took SSRIs recreationally 8(

"20mg of Valium, to which they have no tolerance, and 5mg of Endone"

I know of one person who could easily get in trouble and OD on that combination at that dose.

4 valiums and 1 endone is a lot for someone with zero tolerance. Maybe not for most people but I know for a fact there are some people, especially small females who would not have a pleasant experience on that combo at that dose. Don't forget, some female adults can weigh as little as ~50Kg or less.

None of this is likely to be relevant to the OP because they are talking about someone who has taken 4mg xanax! and is still standing. Even on meth that is a massive dose for someone who is supposed to have zero tolerance to benzos.

The xanax has a relative short half life (12 hours from memory), but at that dose it would still be present in significant levels to still be an active factor. Valium has a much longer half life (up to 100 hr) so if they used valium a day before as well it might bump their serum levels also.

Should they be concerned? Yes, they shouldn't mix and match benzo's and opiates. Plenty of experience users will still get into trouble, just as plenty of rookies will have no problems. If you have to ask then you are probably balancing a fine line.

busty,am i wrong to presume (and i don't think i am), but if you're dealing with a well known addict who has a, to keep it short and to the point, history of lying and doctor shopping, that you're given a heads up on such patients when they're about to go under the knife.

i ask because i underwent oral surgery not long back after a considerable abstinence from benzos and had only just started opioid treatment a short while beforehand.

i wasn't given the usual doped up midaz/fent mix, rather the new concoction dentists have on hand.

feel free to pm me.

I don't do enough GA's to say for sure. The most I offer is a couple of valiums (but thats for botox ;))Personally I rely on a honest medical history and hope that the anaesthetist has enough get out of jail juice on hand. I hadn't heard of an addicts register as such.

Nice to se you back bruv :)

^^ If you're talking about at hospital, then there's no alert system per se - it will usually only be known if a) you tell them, b) your GP (or another treating doctor) notifies them, or c) it's documented somewhere in your notes

it's a little of a ,b and c, DM. the dental building is adjacent to the mental health/ATODS building which is only a couple hundred metres from the ER section of the hospital; i don't know when to shut my mouth sometimes, either.

whatever the painkiller used on me (partly behavioural condition acting, so placebo to an extent) was extremely efficient and lasted a good while.

i expected to come out doped up to my neck but considering the situation they did the right thing - there was very little euphoria/glow to it, just a little stumbly like a few mg of bupe would do to be. it's up to me continue that path now.
