Valium (diazepam) vs. alcohol on the weekends.

my mother was an alcoholic my dad? was an alcholic alot of my family is i have noticed i am starting to drink more and more i stopped drinking for five weeks because the doctor said my liver enzymes were to high

basicly am finished with alchol but i need a relase at the weekend so whaqt in your opinion would be better 4 beers at the wekend and mabey 5 10mg dizapam tablets

or drinking my self unconscious from thursday to sunday
i am aware valuim is addictive

i just hate alcohol anymore and think valium, tamazapm or xanex would be a better option i cant smoke weed it makes me mega mega paranoid

any opinions welcome

oh would just like to add am 32 have used heroin, coke, ecstasy, methadrone ,speed, LSD and a few other things

Both alcohol and diazepam work in a similar fashion, however, diazepam is easier on your liver, that's for sure.

Alcohol and diazepam are also both addictive, don't discount alcohol's ability to cause dependency. If you plan on just using diazepam this weekend, I don't see anything wrong with using diazepam instead of alcohol. However, five 10mg tablets (50mg) sounds like a bit much. Do you have a tolerance for benzos?
 
i wake up i take 50mg tamazapam go for a walk with the dog chill out i take another 50 at the start of the evening and mabey another 50 to80mg at the end of the night i have recently tried xanex but madre me very sleepy see the whole problem started because i cant sleep doctor wouldnt prescribe asnything as was on ssri so i orderd zopiclone this combined with alchol is horrible and made me not want to drink ever again

i just want to have 4 o5 beers on a sat with mabey 50/80mg diazapam

rather than destroy my liver have my kids see me in a horrible mess etc etc

i dont do thid during the week as i have work
 
Combining 50-80mg of diazepam with 4 or 5 beers will make you pretty intoxicated and more likely than not just cause you to black out.

If you want to save your liver and not have your kids see you as a mess, I would completely remove alcohol from the equation. If your doctor refuses to prescribe you benzos, I recommend seeing a specialist and speaking to them about getting on a taper schedule for benzo addiction, because that sounds like the best course of action for your situation.

thank for your honest advice i want to stop the drink completly i have seen what its done to familys i have taken drugs and drung since i was 14 i just cant go from taking stuff to taking nothing and if i get a nice relaxing feeling and then fall asleep get up and do my family stuff them fine

about 1 hour ago a took 100mg diazapalm and apart from the sweats i feel completly fine thanks for you advice guys a feel am just i a really bad place just now
 
Not a problem man. Use what dosage of diazepam you need to feel better.

I do think that speaking to a specialist doctor about tapering down off benzos is the best course of action for you, at the very least, you would be able to reduce your tolerance to benzos.
 
Have you tried marijuana? I drink a lot less when I smoke, and others have noticed the same effect. It is far safer than the other options you listed.

if ya read his post he said weed makes him real paranoid....same with me

heroin and crack is better for my mind than weed anyday....wish it wasnt tho
 
^ Yea, guess I missed that part. Luckily weed no longer makes me paranoid, but I did have to stop for a while due to that.
 
I would not touch the alcohol again. Watched my step-dad die this past year, and it's an ugly ugly death. Liver swells up and if there is nothing else wrong, well, it takes a couple days to go.

If I were you, I would look into running if you can't smoke pot. Running is a great way to get high, have a release, get some time alone, etc.

Anything else is probably going to lead to more problems and/or frustration in the long run.

You may need to be screened for depression, but again, the running is going to help a lot with that.

If you have a bad knee, etc, maybe think about a time that you were very satisfied, very happy, complete pleasure -- what were you doing in this moment/s? >Do that.
 
chill with a couple of benzos my friend simular sort of action anyhowz effects wise!!So just chillax with a comftable dose of benzos pluss you say weed makes you paranoid!! unless im mistaken im sure i read that benzos take the edge of the negative effects of weed.Killing two birds with one stone that way. Pluss it saves on the dogy stomach and cronic headache after a lengthy session on the booze. Thats what i do now just sit back wiv my benzos a few dihydrocodeine un just relax enjoy my friend!! :-)
 
If you take 150-180mg of Temazepam a day with 4-5 beers you will need a lot of diazepam to feel anything similar. You'll need about 125-140mg if you are planning on substituting those substances with diazepam. (20mg Temazepam = 10mg diazepam; 1 beer = 10mg) I'd suggest you completely quit the alcohol, it's awful for your liver and combining it with benzodiazepines you may have an accidental overdose at anytime.

Most likely in your situation you will become addicted to the benzos sooner or later. Its just a matter of time. Your family has substance abuse problems so most likely you will to by using all these drugs. In fact you probably already are, have you ever gone a few days without any alcohol and without the Temazepam? You may notice withdrawals. By taking the Temazepam daily you'll just naturally become physically addicted, doesn't matter if you abuse it or not (in which you are if you take anymore than 60mg daily, the maximum prescribed dose). Its suggested you don't take hypnotic benzodiazepines for longer than 30 days.

Quit the damn alcohol. 5 beers is roughly equivalent to 50mg diazepam. If you plan on stopping the temazepam also, 180mg is equivalent to 90mg diazepam. So if you plan on quitting both you'll need about 140mg diazepam at the least. If your looking for an even higher buzz than usual your looking at needing 150-200mg.
 
I here ua K'd out. ive taken 100mg diaz (on the rare occation) & thats not because of tolerance. i have a natural fucking tolerance. & a 6 pack a beer will make me noticablly acting different because it hits me about stronger. & thats a low dose of alcohol compared to what I used to drink sometimes. thats why i dont drink no more. it would make me act like an idiot than i would pass would & have a headace & feel dehydration for weeks.
id rather be a benzo addict than a alcoholic.

aken 100mg+ of valium just for 1 night isnt as bad as drinking 12 beers. beleive me
valium isnt a problem unless start taking it every day for weeks/months.
even if i were to take 150mg of temazepam then sleepy benzos it still wouldnt make me to the point where i have to go to bed. its calming & makes me sleep.
these days i take antipychotics. & no matter what ppl say. they give u a deep sleep & the side effects arnt to bad. 300-350mg of seroquel usually makes me fairly tired.
way more than 150 mg temazepam. its a chill drug. & yeah being calm helps ya to sleep but i dont think they;re really sleeping pills. im only speaking for myself..

if i took 150mg temazepam... or even more. id still need the seroquel to go to get a good nights sleep. i even find seroquel a litte weak. but i havn ventured past 350mg yet. i dont wanna get to dependent on em i just wanna take enough. i can still have trouble at this dose. i hope i dont need to up the dose & my insomia gets better cuz its a little bit of a worry that 350mg of seroquel doesnt completely knock my out..

btw im sure antipychotics have w/d & because they are stronger than benzos im a little bit sceptical about drs saying its not addictive. well maybe ya dont get a tolerance but such a strong sleeping aid has got to half som unpleasent wd because like i said they's stronger than benzos. period

Dude, take a few valiums and THEN smoke some weed. I get super paranoid from weed too, but if I take a few xanax before I smoke, I don't feel paranoid at all. In fact, I will only smoke weed if I have some benzos. OTOH, I combine benzos with beer all the time. However, I know my limit--usually a beer or two and 0.5 - 0.75 of xanax. Personally, I don't find benzos to be very recreational by themselves.

benzos > alcohol anyday imo. they are better for your body and they don't produce hangovers like alcohol. if you can keep your doses relatively low for diazepam you will have no problem controlling your actions unlike alcohol where i always make a fool of myself because i say shit i dont mean or do shit i dont want to do. alcohol is also nauseating for me, it makes me feel a little bloated/full (mainly beer) and diazepam isn't. it's a really nice, relaxing chill feeling and you just feel that everything in the world is alright, and the engulfing blanket of warmness covers and protects your body from stress, depression, anxiety, ect... atleast for me 8)

some people don't get much out of benzos but for me that isn't the case, and if you like alcohol then you will most likely like benzos too.

oh yah, and weed + benzos is a rallly good combo. even if you usually get paranoid from weed, on benzos that won't happen so idk i need to stop rambling but im on adderall and subs and i feel rather stimulated ggksjkaslf
 
alcohol is nice, makes me want to socialize, makes me mildly euphoric and feel good, makes me wanna dance. etc. but obviously there are downsides. valium make me feel relaxed but theres nothing else to them, very boring tbh. doesn't inspire me to talk more or remove inhibitions. but very good for what their built for
 
Valium tends to make me very tired, irritated when people try to talk to me because I am so tired, and just want to sit down and go to sleep..lol.

When I was first on valium it made me a social god, but then the effects of that tapered off and it just turned into a sleep aid to me.
 
After a few dozen times Valium can get a touch boring once you start to fall asleep.
 
I definitely prefer benzos over alcohol. I used to be an alcoholic and a benzo addict but now I can't stand alcohol, it makes me sick just after a couple drinks. I don't know why because I used to drink a 12 pack a day and would never get sick. Alcohol just feels bad to my body. It is really damaging. I'm still a big time benzo addict, I have so much anxiety and benzos cure that, which is euphoric. I'll take some Diazepam and clonazepam over alcohol any day.
