Valium Dependency

I'm a bit confused about how quickly or easy it is to get addicted to Valium/Diazepam. From all accounts it's supposed to be extremely addictive and absolute hell to get off, yet I read people on huge amounts such as 150mg+ which seem to indicate a long time of working up to that dose.

Currently i have a number of 10mg pills lieing about, to help with comedowns as well as a one-off night in 'treat' when i feel like it. As a 'now and then' drug is it perfectly safe? At what point does tolerance build and how regularly is too often. Is 20mg one day a week too much? What about bi-weekly?

Cheers

As a "now and then" drug it's fine. It's generally only with regular/daily use that someone will become dependent. The time is takes for a tolerance to develop depends on the individual. You may eventually get tolerant to 20mg's a week, or you may not.
