Benzos Valium and Valerian Root interactions, Anyone have experience with this?

So recently what with stress and other stuff im using valium and valerian root to help me sleep at night, But i am NOT mixing the 2 within the same night.

I am aware that valium has a long half life, so i am just wondering if it is safe to say take valium one night, then valerian root another night?

I dont use valium that often, i only use them as a tool or a special occasion. So I guess what im asking is, say i was taking valerian root all week, then one night i wanted to take 10 -20mg valium out of the blue would i face a bad interaction ?

Define "bad interaction." If you mean dangerous, then no, you should not expect anything like lethality/dangerously depressed breathing. The combination of valerian root and a tranquilizer would provide minor potentiation for the drowsiness accompanying the tranquilizer (in your case, diazepam), but other than that you will not encounter anything that might cause distress.

The potentiation is such that it in no way resembles combining something like alcohol with benzos; this combination is notorious for producing depressed respiration when taken in sufficient quantities that fatal overdose is possible (again, this is dosage-dependent, but generally speaking alcohol+benzos is not advisable unless you have experience with it, tolerance to either, or are consuming small quantities in an environment of safety). Not so with Valerian root. You are playing it extra-safe (not a bad thing) by not consuming both in the same night, although it would still be safe to do so if you so choose.
