Valium and an International flight

Hey guys, I don't really know where to put this, but I figured here suited best as I fly out of Australia.

But I have to fly out to Italy next week, with a stop over in Kuala Lumpur. I am thinking of taking some Valium on board, just so I can ease some nerves and hopefully sleep the majority of it.

I don't have a prescription for it, nor have I ever been prescribed it. Is there a chance of running into any problems?

What are the odds of getting caught with them? I don't mean to say I will try smuggle them, but if I can take them on without a hassle, I'd like to
