I was drinking last night after taking 10mg valium...and got to a point where I was like shit...I don't want to black out, cause I don't even know when to watch for my breathing being too shallow and shit, and the friends I'm with would probably run away and leave me to die or choke on my vomit. So my question is....as long as I'm still conscious and aware...when can I tell that enough is enough? When I'm sedated enough to stay awake and alert but not pass out and stop breathing?

I know this is a stupid combo of drugs, but its happening anyway and all smart remarks aside...I'd just like an answer. thanks.

For consideration, I'm a male, 5'8" 150 lbs.

Right now. Right away.

The onset for me, taking 280mg+ oxy per day & 0.5 - 1g clonazepam is not good to mix with booz.

Please be careful!!!

If you are going to then 0.5mg and wait 1 hour..... and gauge.

you mean 5mg, right? i'm talking about diazepam, not ativan.

what are the chances of dying from mixing the two? I mean...it's hard unless its in large quantities, right?...and at most I'd be taking 10mg valium and a negotiable amount of alcohol.

The problem with this mix is that it's very easy to lose your inhibitions enough to take more benzos while fucked up, which is where the real danger lies as far as I'm aware.

In my experience, if you keep the benzo dose below 2mg or so clonazepam or equivalent, you'll pass out before seeing any kind of dangerous respiratory depression. Low dose benzos + medium/high dose alcohol = amnesia and passing out, high dose benzos + any alcohol = death.

My ERROR*

I am also 5'8 - 200+ lbs and 10mg diaz should not be a problem. I have taken 30-40mg with 200+mg oxy + 300ml RUM.

This means NOTHING as everyone is different And YOUR tolerance will vary. Please take as little as possible & then gauge your reaction!!! SAFE........... !!!!

Overall, 20mg MAX over 6 hours should be MORE than you should play with.
(p.s. - I know of a old friend that could handle 70mg Diaz + a shoebox of other shiny powdery stuff , but this is not you or me*)

PM. any specifics and I will be happy to assist.

Have a good weekend %)

Gonna think long and hard about all this stuff from now on...
Thanx for all the info people...

You need to be careful not to take too much of either drug. Both drugs lower inhibitions which may cause you to dose more once you are intoxicated. I say only have a limited supply and be cognizant of the fact that if you dose too high, your inhibitions will be shattered and you essentially lose control over yourself. So take it slow: dose low, drink slowly... build up to the effects you want and experiment a bit to feel out your body and boundaries.

Don't panic over respiratory depression; it's not something that would just sneak up on you even if you're being careful. If you go slowly, you should never get more intoxicated than you intend and not have to worry about respiratory depression. Again, just dose reasonably, drink slowly, and be confident in yourself that you're not going to overdo it...
