UVA Study Finds `Cool Kids' Get In More Trouble

Umm...the "cool" kids at my school didn't do much more than drink and smoke a little pot (maybe). The sorta indie/geeky kids did all the drugs/had all the connections. Those of you that are saying "duh" to these findings would be saying "duh" if they'd found the 'uncool' kids were doing all the drugs too.

Considering there have been a few of us that didn't see it work this way at our school, apparently asking 3 people at your school wouldn't have looked at a big enough picture. I'd wonder if perhaps there would be big city/small town differences?

Btw...the title is kind of weird....those 'cool kids' never got in trouble about whatever they did. Most of them were also the kids whose parents had a lot of money, and thus got away with everything.
 
^Exactly my point - plenty of schools already work this way, so they were wasting their time doing this study, AND it doesn't work this way everywhere, so they were REALLY wasting their time...
 
Umm...being that they asked 500 students I'm fairly sure they weren't all at one school, but that they would have looked at a variety of school. That's how this research is generally done.
 
In my school the 'cool' kids were the ones who got drunk, smoked a little weed and thought it was tough to pick on the younger kids.

They were the ones who thought I was weird because I wouldn't touch weed. That was always a fun conversation...

"Oi man, you want a cone?"
"Nah man, I'm high as a kite as it is."
"But your eyes aren't red."
"Who said I was smoking weed, that shit's pointless."

I used to love the reactions that would get.

IF THE USER MOVES UP IN THE SOCIAL LADDER, HE BECOMES GROOVY
