Using SteriFilt Universal microfilters question.

Hi I have a few questions regarding these.

Are these easy to use? I've read a report before that applying too much pressure can break them. I'll be using them for oxy's, MSContin and H.

Also especially for morphine and oxy' pills do I need to filter through a cotton filter first to remove large particles then through the microfilter or is it ok do just use the microfilter?

I'd be using OxyNorm 10mg, OxyContin 80mg (Uk 3rd party but licensed off of Purdue so they're the same as them), MSContin 200mg, 10mg and 15mg.

If so I was doing 1 MSContin 200mg or 7 or 8 MSContin 10/15mg's at once do I then need to use a cotton filter first in this instance before to stop the micro' from clogging?

I've heard it's best to run/draw some water through the filter first to avoid the filter from absorbing some drug (Even though the filter hardly absorbs any drug) ??

I don't think I have any other questions. I'll ask more when I use them if I have any problems.

I haven't found Sterifilts easy to break, but they do clog easily in my experience, so I would definitely recommend pre-filtering with cotton or something first if you're using them to filter pills. If you're worried about a bit of the drug getting left in the filter you can run water through before and do a "wash" after. Once you have drawn up your solution, put a bit more water in the spoon/cap and draw up into your syringe through the filter. This should get out any remaining drug absorbed by the filter.

I know this threads a couple of years old but i thought id contribute as im thinking about trying something similar with the steri filt.

As far as i understand all uk mst continus pills weigh exactly the same no matter what the dose of the pills are there all 150mg i think be it 5, 10, 15, 30, 60 or 100 unless napp have changed the formulation scince i last weighed them ( That excludes the 200mg tablet which is twice the size and is 300mg) So if my maths serves me correct that works out at 66.6% pure morphine for the 100 and 200mg tablets. I also found they clog up roll up filters very easily last time i tried unless i heated them up with a lighter and was wondering if the 10mg instant release tablets might be better, only problem with them is they do weigh something daft like 265mg per pill so that sounds like its almost not worth trying with them as they contain so much bulking agent probably talc or lactose.

Because of this i was thinking 1/3rd or 1/2 of a 100mg mst would be better suited for this purpose. I could get zomorph caps if i wanted them as they was trying to force everybody on mst onto zomorph recently anyway for cost reasons but i didnt want them as they dont work as well orally as mst plus there twice the weight at around 300mg for the 100mg caps. Someone mentioned the MXL brand to me as being the best to work with at one point but i couldnt see it myself as they are 24 hourly and surely would have more wax binders in them than MST. Im not sure if there caps only or tabs too. I assume a cold water extraction would get less waxy crap into the solution, obtaing the 2nd wash would not be essentiall for me as idd just happily eat the remaining small amount of morph and the gunk. Are steri filts ok for this has anyone tried them on mst ? On the box they come in it says they have been tested on subutex, buprenorphine generics and oxycontin and removes over 93% of the insoluble particles over 10 microns in pills and retains 5 times less drug than tradditional filters. How correct that is i dont know i bought them for heroin but i been told im probably better of injecting mst continus than heroin but not sure if the person was aware that I only IM heroin and not IV it due to lack of veins although i could probably afford to try it once as they cost a lot less. Has anyone else have experience in this department ??

Maybe i would be better off starting my own thread Called Steri filt's and mst continus ? Sure wish i could get the diamorphine 10mg's instead of crappy sevredol !
