Using someone else's needle

Hepatitis B virus (HBV), hepatitis C virus (HCV) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) can all survive outside the human body for several weeks, with virus survival influenced by virus titer, volume of blood, ambient temperature, exposure to sunlight and humidity.
Damn... that doesn't sound good :( Lets just hope a "prick" in the top of my hands wouldn't infect me... well the only way to know is to get tested.

This guy I know caught HIV from his friend who knew he was + but didn't tell him. The guy shot up, refilled and left the needle on the bench when my friend picked it up and used it- hey presto, he now has HIV too.

most fucked up thing i've ever heard.

Ok, that could be the most ignorant thing I have read all week in here, and knowing the bunch we have getting the award for "MOST IGNORANT COMMENT" REALLY, REALLY says a lot about you ...

First, there are no drugs, or should I say, ways of taking drugs that will give you the rush you get from IV'ing ... thats why you IV, you have the rush, and you can also get off on less then half what you'd have to snort, smoke, whatever...

Second, if you use CLEAN NEEDLES then it's not a problem ... I mean, in thousands of IV injections I have never had to "share" a needle .. maybe I'm not that filthy of a junky ... if you somehow are in a stuation where you MUST use a needle someone else used, then use the bleaching method ...

As for SOURCES for SYRINGES - I say thats ok AS LONG AS THAT SOURCE ISN'T AN ONLINE PHARMACY THAT ALSO OFFERS OTHER DRUGS ... I understand that in SOMESTATES it is illegal for a pharmacist to sell you syringes without a prescription, luckily MOST STATES are not set up like this, so you can walk into yer local pharmacy and simply say 'yeah, I'd like a pack of 10 1cc 29g syringes' .. or if you want to be more technical - 'yeah, I'd like a pack of 10 BD 1cc 29g Ultra Fines' .. even in a state where it's technically illegal to sell a syringe without a prescription, some pharmacists will still do it ... also, some links were posted for needle exchanges - these are god-send ...

And trust me, I don't care HOW oposed you are to IV drug use - you give me your arm for a few seconds, I promise you won't feel a thing and in a few seconds your entire view on the subject will be forever changed... you can deny it now, but I have taking the IV virginity of plenty of "your types" and in 100% of those cases, it wasn't the "only time' .. or "just this once" like so many said as the surgical steal broke the skin ...

Thanks

Harm Reduction!?

Just to echo AlphaNumeric, & ebeneezer_geeza here; are these questions being asked as if to calculate a risk? You should NEVER SHARE NEEDLES, it's just foolish any way you look at it, and I hope you don't need someone telling you that. We're all smarter than that here in OD, let's not debate something that rails against every aspect of harm reduction.
