It's so simple.
If you can't handle your plans, don't do it. You have to make the choice. Only you know when you are ready.
If you are trying to fully recover, then of course you wouldn't dose... Am I missing something?
The OP never stated the fact of quitting. OP just wants to cut back. OP is not doing enough to have physical withdrawals... OP claims...
Personally, there are people who are light smokers of cigarettes atm23. Take me for instance... I can't smoke more than 1 cigarette every 4 or so hours, or I get ill. If I am drinking, which is on occasion, I can smoke more. I do use opiates as much as alcohol. My habit naturally is very sparring usage for most drugs I use. Cigarettes and lyrica are actually the only drugs I most frequently do. (Lyrica 150 mg 2x day, 1 Cigarette 3-4x day.)
Also, the "keep using it gets worse" theory is complete and udder bullshit. If you keep a natural distance towards drugs, you won't have nearly as high as a chance for addiction.(Using only for fun on sparring occasion.)
If you throw excuses into your logic on drug usage, that means you are addicted... When you can't keep things in a straight-forward manner. (Using to alleviate depression or anxiety.)
SUMMARY: It can be done.
