Heroin using H amongst Buprenorphine regimen?

My friend has been on Subutex for a week now, and decided he would do a final shot of Heroin, while he can shoot through the Bupe comfortably. My question is, does he have to wait another 24 hours or more before taking his subutex again? He obviously doesn't want to experience Precipitated WD or anything! Any advice & comments would be appreciated.

Anytime I tried heroin during my sub routine it was very underwhelming, not that it won't feel something, he just won't get the feeling he remembers. The bupe is latched on pretty hard to yr brain.
 
If I were him yes after he shoots I would wait. I never waited 24 he's but always wAited 12-16 anyhow. But like above poster said he's probably not going to "enjoy" it as much. I wouldn't even do a shot if it were me. But good luck either way.

And I know you are new, but check out the Posting Guidelines and the BLUA you agreed to when you sign up. We know "your friend" really is you so you might as well just own it...no one is going to be judgmental with you for being straight up---in fact, its something we respect.
 
Heroins half life is not very long at all. Heroin is a short acting opiate so you don't have to wait as long as you would if it were methadone or another long acting Opiate/Opioid. That being said I would wait about 12-24 hours. The last time I kicked Heroin I waited 12 hours after my last dose of heroin and I was fine but everyone's metabolism is different.
 
I think the OP is talking about already being on buprenorphine maintenance for 1 week, then using heroin once, and wondering if they have to wait 24 hrs after the heroin in order to take buprenorphine again in order to avoid precipitated withdrawals. It is my understanding that if you are just using heroin once while having already been on bupe, you do not have to wait, as buprenorphine only causes precipitated withdrawals in people who are currently physically dependent on another opioid. I think the only reason for waiting in the OP or OP's "friend's" situation would be to wait until you are not high anymore.
