Using a Patch for Recreational Value

So I was doing some cleaning yesterday, and I found an old Butrans patch I had been prescribed a bit back by my pain management doctor. I never used them beyond like one patch, because it wasn’t effective as an analgesic. Nevertheless, I’m inclined to see if there’s any recreational value with them.

I’m not opiate naive, and I’m absolutely certain a 10 mcg Butrans patch isn’t going to blow me off my ass. However, it’s something I’d want to sample at least. So what exactly do I have to do to get the best out of a patch? Do I eat it? Do I stick it under my tongue? I’m not even sure the best route of administration for a patch beyond the intended transdermal use.

Great info @dalpat077 about the BA. I had no idea about that.

For the OP, cut the patch into smaller pieces and put them in your mouth. I simply chewed them like gum, although apparently it is best to let it "sit" on your gums for a few minutes.
