I remember when i first tried oxycodone (30mg) i would get really high and have an increased appetite.

However lately i've been binging on hydromorphones and i never have an appetite on them.. Whenever I wake up in the mornings i always try to eat before i start getting high because i always get nauseas when i'm high on hydro's on an empty stomach..

I've been binging on them for a good 10 days now and i haven't had an appetite at all, nor does my stomach even growl like it's empty.. I've lost alot of weight.

Is this normal considering i used to have an increased appetite, or is it the hydromorphone that's making the difference?

It's fairly normal to lose weight on opioids, especially strong ones. I always feel like my appetite is suppressed entirely. I know I dropped 20-30 pounds when I used opioids regularly.

Also, keep in mind there's a huge difference between oxy and hydromorph.

yeah i realize there's a huge difference i just thought opiates in general would increase my appetite.

also, is it normal for it to be hard to piss while high, almost to the point of nodding?

Very normal. I find it hard to piss on all opiates, even low dose ones! And even when I can it's really hesitant, it's so frustrating!

Effie's top tips for peeing on opiates

Firstly, sit down if you are a boy (obviously girls already will be, hehe). This could take a while.

Take a book or magazine in to read - distracting yourself can sometimes work wonders. I send text messages sometimes, works in the same way.

Run the tap so you can hear running water!

If that isn't working, and you can reach your sink, run warm water and put your hand/wrist under it. Wait a while and see.

Be patient - can take a while - but if it becomes obvious it's not happening, go and do something else for 15 mins or so then try again

If you get really desperate and can't go (has happened to me once or twice), getting in a warm shower or bath usually does the trick. A little gross perhaps, but when your bladder feels like its gonna explode, it's well worth it!

There isn't much info on it in the literature, and not all people get it, but I get it BAD so you are not alone! :)

yep, peeing is a pain in the ass. i gotta stand there shaking for like 5 mins when i think i am done. it sucks.

^I notice a lot of opiates give me pretty bad dry mouth (when combined with a first-generation antihistamine such as diphenhydramine, the dry mouth is even worse) so I end up drinking lots and lots of water :)

Yeah same, which exacerbates the peeing issue.. my bf never has any troubles, damn him, I get it every time!
