USA vs CA over the counter

I have a chance to travel frequently between US and CA (specifically between Ontario and New York). I was wondering for quiet some time what over the counter drugs you can get in one country but cant get in the other over the counter. I know you can get way more work out supplements in the US that are banned in Canada.
If anyone has a list or just wants to share their knowledge please do so :)

AC&C Aspirin/Caffeine/Codeine = Canada
Salvia = Canada
Peyote = Canada

you can get these unfortunate codeine pills in canada. ACCs i think they are called. only 8mg of codeine per pill, and mixed with tylenol and caffeine.

france is the place for easy otc codeine.

Well might as well get some Benylin and trip on DXM with a tiny hint of codeine :)

ALSO

you can get Advil with 8mg of codeine in it.

I have yet to try the DXM trip (a little scared!) but I'd definitely take advantage of the codeine if I were you. Having no other options that's what I'd do, probably buy a couple+ packages and do a Cold Water Extraction. :)

Cold water extraction? Please elaborate kind sir :)

With DXM you gotta be a little bit carefull but I have not tried DXM either, well enough to trip on. But I think this test will be coming up this semester since I am a big lover of alcohol, gonna see how DXM replaces alcohol :D
 
On AC&C right now. Aspirin/Caffeine/Codeine

-acidic CWE
-wash with chloroform
-basify remaining water
-wash with chloroform
-evaporate and you've got yourself pure codeine base
...pure enough to continue on as well ;)

edit 2: DXM is too dissociative for me...some people love the euphoria though...others love those crazy plateaus

I'm a girl, but no biggie :) Just search for cold water extraction on this site, or google, it's a simple process. It allows you to filter out a good portion of the aceteminophen that is in pills along with the codeine so you don't damage your liver.

I'm not sure I'll ever try DXM, I'm definitely weary of it. If I have other means available to me, I probably never will ;)
 
Does OTC in both countries simply mean without a prescription or does it only mean stuff which you can get off the shelf without consulting the pharmacist?

I'm not certain about Canada, but here in the US, OTC is stuff you can buy without a prescription, but there are certain medications that they keep behind the counter and you have to show ID. Such as the cold medicine that people use in the manufacturing of meth (pseudofed or whatever it's called).

Same in Canada. OTC means over the counter as in 'excuse me pharmacist can I have some drugzzzz' as well as grab off shelf.

Never heared of Peyote, would that just be the mescaline? So its one of those things like Salvia? Legal cause of the indigenous peoples.
Will I have to look for that in a head shop?
Oh and Promethazine, OTC in US, CAnada or both?
Does Promethazine has similar effects as zopiclone? I have insomnia and doc prescribed me some of those, they are pretty wicked. But just a very little high I guess. More of a brain dead feeling before you pass out then much of a "high" but still pleasant I guess

No promethazine in Canada, I've asked at many different places. I've never been told it's not OTC, just that they don't have it.

You don't have to show ID or anything to get T1s. Just go in and ask for a 200ct bottle, they're about 8 or 9 bucks. Is there a solvent other than chloroform that can wash the caffeine out of them? And by that I mean one that's somewhat easy to find in a store or online.
 
Caffeine: 1g in 5.5mL of chloroform
Codeine Phosphate: 1g in 4.5L chloroform
Codeine Freebase: 1g in 0.5 ml chloroform.

Doubt any this handydandy :S I don't have any really good solubility charts for anything else either. Maybe if you try and freeze a methanol solution of caffeine and codeine phosphate the codeine might come out of solution first? Pure speculation.

Here's an easy way to get the caffeine out though using good old breakthrough columns. Might waste a few doses getting everything right though.
