More than 70 percent of
people who abuse prescription pain relievers obtain the drugs
from friends or relatives, usually with permission and for free,
according to a government study released on Wednesday.

The study, based on an ongoing national survey of nearly
70,000 Americans aged 12 and over, offers a snapshot of a
growing health and safety problem that is already responsible
for more fatal overdoses than cocaine and heroin, combined, and
has begun to spawn other crimes including gang violence.

"This is one of the greatest drug threats we have ever
faced," Michele Leonhart, who heads the U.S. Drug Enforcement
Administration, told reporters as the study was released.

An estimated 7 million Americans abuse pharmaceutical drugs.

In all of these articles about perscription drug overdoses they almost never mention that it's the combining of multiple CNS depressants, including alcohol, that causes many, if not most, of these overdoses. They would rather let people continue to die than edjucate them on how to take drugs more safely. I guess a higher body count helps promote their agenda, people "getting away" with taking drugs doesn't.
 
More people die in the U.S. every year from prescription drug abuse than the deaths of all illegal drugs combined. Our system is fucked.

For FREE??!??! lol...70%!?!?! this is trying to tell you that 70% of people who abuse opiate pills are getting them for "FREE" !??! lol that is such nonsense its not even remotely believable... I would say its more like 1% of people who abuse prescription opies get them for free from a 'friend or relative'.... the media is so retarded and filled with propaganda i refuse to follow mainstream media as its mostly just brainwashing nonsense to keep you from thinking about the real issues that MATTER!!!!
