Triad, NC-- WFMY News has learned of a new way people are getting high that's legal.

Teens and possibly adults are using a substance called "Pump-It," sold in stores as an enhanced plant vitamin, but people are injecting it to get high.

Police in Wilmington, NC actually caught some young people in the act of injecting the substance into their body. But, it's not outlawed like K2 Spice or Bath Salts.

Pump-It has not made it to the Triad yet, but Alamance County Sheriff's Public Information Officer Randy Jones told News 2 that it is inevitable it will be in the Triad, saying, "It seems to be part of a disturbing trend we've seen the last two to three years, products that are being misused or designer drugs that are common on the market."

So basically it hasn't harmed anyone yet but it's a "high" therefore lock up your sons and daughters.

What is the actual active ingredient?
The powdery substance is a stimulant named methylhexanamine, and according to laws the substance combination isn't a drug.

It also goes by DMMA and geranamine. Legal stimulant sports supplement used as a replacement for ephedrine.

It really isn't that much to be worried about, to be honest. Your average sudafed would be more stimulating.

Good lord.

If you little punks ruin my workouts by snorting plugging shooting this shit and getting it banned, there will be hell to pay! Even my father, in his fifties, is using this before workouts, and the energy derived therefrom is significantly improving his health.

And what do they mean it isn't a drug? Of course it's a drug.

They seem to be missing the point. Do they actually think that people use those the way they are advertised?

Just a sec guys - I am totally out of air.

Gotta get pumped!

I couldn't resist sowwie.

I was under the impression it was similiar to bath salts. I heard of people snorting it so I guess IV makes sense. Only a matter of time before DEA pulls the one-year hiatus and after that it will be banned. Just like K2. The more news stories about "kids getting high" that come out the faster it will happen.

Yes it is. Not a fan personally. But then again it isn't really intended for recreation, it's a simple pns stimulant. The lack of benzene ring speaks volume, but that straight carbon chain does enough I guess. I can't imagine injecting it, but I can't imagine lots of things, mercifully.

I tried this for the first time the other day by dosing 25mg at the start of a workout. I didn't care for it personally. It made me dysphoric and edgy. I never really got positive effects. Maybe I need to dose ~30 minutes before I workout but I can't see this stuff having recreational value. I don't think they should sell it as a high though because as numbers said, there are people who benefit from this stuff.

This stuff really isn't at all recreational, it's more like caffeine than anything. No idea why the hell someone would inject it.
