Uruguay votes for regulated cultivation and sale of marijuana

^ Damn dude you are getting ripped off if you pay that for a gram in Aus.

Remember that in Uruguay 2.50 is going to be a lot more of a persons daily wage than it is here. It wouldn't surprise me if this works out to be similarly priced for them as it is for us if you account for average earnings.

Yeah that's true.

I dont buy it by the g (I dont actually buy it much anymore, because the way I go through it I find it a big waste of money), but I know younger people who do and that's what they pay, maybe 4 times when its just by the g. Of course when you buy a larger amount it becomes a fair bit cheaper per g. If I buy an Oz its nearly double what I first quoted per g. Yeah, seems fair in comparison with what they probably get paid there, although I have no idea what that is, but I imagine it's alot less than the average wage here.

I wonder what it'd cost if it were regulated and for sale legally here. Not that it seems likely to happen anytime soon, they dont even discuss it here in politics as far as I've heard, hell they wont even discuss it for medicinal use really.

I guess it comes down to who you know. I refuse to buy less than an ounce in 99% of circumstances, I was talking about buying it by the gram and I would still consider that price to be a rip, not saying absolutely nobody pays that just that in my experience a regular user probably would not and nobody I know does. I wont get any more specific than that because I am not sure if price discussion is still allowed in this forum, even if it were, this doesn't really relate to the article.

I reckon if it were regulated and legal here it would probably cost just about what it does now, but a significant percentage of that would almost certainly be tax, if it were to go relatively untaxed you have to figure the price would drop by at least 30% because the current prices really are hard to justify if you take the whole illegality thing away, it isn't exactly super hard to grow the stuff.
