Can someone please explainto me the biological mechanism behind urinary difficulties on heroin? It's like I have to try so fuckign hard to piss when I'm on dope, and I don't really understand why that would happen. It really bothers me because w2hen I'm smacked out I tend to drink a lot of fluids, resulting in a very full bladder, and then it takes me like five minutes to get the machinery to work when I'm doped up.

I've been doing a lot of opiates lately, I haven't been able to piss right for over a week now, not to mention I haven't taken a shit in 6-8 days, which I'm sure isn't very healthy. I haven't done any in 2 days now, so I believe today will be the day. It does suck though when you can't piss, the one day I literally stood in the bathroom trying to piss for literally almost 2 hours, until I finally gave up.

Hell yeah man! I went in the bathroom at 3:30 Am this morning to piss, and thanks to a combination of not being able to piss and trying to piss and nodding off, I came out at 5:00 AM like 'What the fuck!'

I'll try that warm water thing.. I can see what you mean about people looking at you funny for suggesting it, but hell, maybe it'll work for me so why not?

It's not just being on opiates that is the problem, for me it seems to be being fucked up to the point where I nod out everytime I blink. When I'm fucked up like that I just cannot pee.

I find running the water from the tap, only very lightly so it makes a pissing sound, works pretty good. Don't have it violently gushing though... that won't work. If all else fails, just go outside with your dick hanging out and enjoy the scenery while your nodding out in nature.

Oh man, I used to hate the urinary problems I got on smack and other opiates. I would lightly blow on my tip till it came out.

It seems to just cause urinary retention. It could have something to do with the cns depression. I know H causes difficulty swallowing, and this is because of the central nervous system being depressed. Maybe its the same thing.

In the end though, its harmless.

Biologically i would say that the CNS depression cause you to lose control of your penile sphincters. You have two of them in your penis one at the base of your bladder (urethral sphincter)and one at the base of your penis (External urethral sphincter). If i remember correctly from anatomy class the first sphincter relaxes when you have enough urine in your bladder and then the urine stops at the second one which you control yourself. The pushing on this one gives you the sensation that you have to pee. I would say the heroin makes it so you have less control over this second sphincter causing you to have trouble urinating. I also noticed that once i start going its hard to keep going as well as this sphincter keeps closing up on me mid stream. I have to REALLY relax when i start. Try sitting down and running some warm tap water over your hand. OR just keep abusing the heroin and you'll eventually be able to pee and shit. I just took a shit right after a .15 gram shot.

I always attributed it to an enlarged prostate or something. Maybe I've seen one too many of those prescription prostate drug comercials(weak stream, starting and stopping, all that jazz) but that's what I figured it was.

i always thought that i was just too relaxed to be able to get the muscle control to pee
that sounds stupid in retrospect - seems like if you were very relaxed that you would loose control of your bladder - but i used to turn the water on and sit there and that would help
also the pouring warm water on yourself sounds like a good idea too

To be honest, I never experienced what yall are talking about.

Maybe it takes a few extra seconds to get the stream going, that's about it...

Then again, heroin makes you retain a lot of water....so I can see why your body doesn't want to give it up.

When I do any sort of amphetamine, I find I hold on to my piss way longer than normal, and when I do get to the toilet, it feels like I waited years and years to go...lol. Still not a problem to actually do it though.

I find that sitting down like a chick and peeing works just fine. Other than that it's fucking impossible.
