Urinalysis test strips

i know this thread probably doesnt belong here, but the health forum sucks and i know there are a few doctors on this forum. i would really appreciate if they (or anyone) could help me.

ive been wondering for the last month if i have a UTI, and my mother (a nurse) brought home some "Multistix 10 SG Reagent Strips for Urinalysis" to check. i did last night and got some weird result (nitrites only were up plus a few other things like protein which i dont think relate to nitrites?) , so she brought home some more to test again. i had 2 points of K last night, and pills about a week ago (which i doubt will affect anything) but i was wondering if i peed on the strip now, would the Ketamine mess with the results or indicate ive been taking drugs?

the sticks say they test for Glucose, Bilirubin, Ketone, Specific Gravity, Blood, pH, Protein, Urobilnogen, Nitrite, and Leucocytes.

i need to know asap. thanks

No, you'll be fine! Urine test stips for drugs are highly specialised finicky things, with little chance of any cross reaction. (oh and by the way, protein and nitrites in your urine probably means a UTI -especially if you have other symptoms like dysuria (pain on pissing) and frequency. Go the cranberry juice and trimethoprim!)

hehe thanks dude. just did it again and the protein is ok..and only nitrite and specific gravity is high. i guess i should drink more and get some antibiotics. but ugh. cranberry juice. gross.
